I've been advertising on a couple of the big job sites and the gov job site but not been able to find anyone so I thought this might be a better place to try.
I have a position at my company for a multi skilled car builder.
You need good fabrication skills sheet metal, tube and box steel for chassis suspension exhaust etc,
we restore RS200's so experience with honeycombs would be helpful, additionally we build custom vehicles so you will be required to strip down cars, cut out floor pans build mid engined installations and so much more.
The position is open for anyone from students to retired ex Motorsport as its a very challenging role we are filling to replace me as I am office bound all the time now, but still able to mentor or direct the successful applicant..
pm me a cv or contact details for more information.

Do you have a link to the adverts for this role? I'm currently 2-3 years away from leaving the forces and doing some research into possible future roles.

I'm not sure you can post links on here but if you go to the gov job website and search for custom hot rod fabricator you will find it.
As I say it's a difficult position to fill but rewarding with a good salary package
Thanks

It's not for me but I've tried "custom hot rod fabricator" and "hot rod fabricator" in both job title and keyword searches on UJ and nothing comes up.

I found it be searching for "custom" and it's about half way down.

Seems like a very good opportunity and somewhere I'd be interested in working

Thanks for the link....

What we can't say on the UJM site is we have a 5 year TV deal and have to build 25 road cars for our 3 race cars to qualify under ACO low volume vehicle manufacturer exemption to race in the 24hr LeMans

To far away from home for me,as a fabricator it is the type of work id like to be doing (currently in ship build/repair doing heavy fab jobs), but sounds like an exciting job for someone though, good luck with the search.
