Anyone work as a Marine Surveyor?

My dad is ex-chairman of the YDSA & has been surveying & teaching surveying for years. He's on hols for the next couple of weeks but if it's any use I can get his thoughts when he gets back. PM me if you are interested.

Sorry it's taken such a long time to respond, I underestimated how much time off my old man was having!

Anyhow, the IIMS is the one to go for if you want to do surveying. The Lloyds qual is not particularly well recognised and the coverage in the practical areas isn't as good as IIMS. The International Boatbuilding Training College in Lowestoft used to run a great course but apparently that has finished now. It may be worth seeing if they have plans to run it again.
