I just spotted this thread today and read the four pages. FWIW, OP does not come across as arrogant, entitled or otherwise undesirable as an employee. Maybe the story about the iphone/android app and the F430 is true. Maybe false. But up until then, he came across to me as perfectly normal and quite keen to do something he is passionate about.

If the F430 story is true, good on you. My humble advice would be to spend a little time (you can clearly afford it) helping those less fortunate than yourself.

If the story is untrue, sorry you felt to type it out. PH used to dish out a fair slice of critical appraisal of anything written and it is good when this catches people out. But then there is out and out bullying which this thread demonstrates.

All the best!

I forget which car it is you claimed to have bought at the age of 18, but you specifically said 'passenger seat' earlier in the thread. Why not mention that earlier (in a humble manner, rather than the bragging approach you otherwise adopted).

So you developed at app which made you lots of cash, but then pursued psychology at University. That field is in no way related to the app you claim, high paid jobs which you aspire to nor is it related to super cars.

I call bullst.
Precisely Dear Watson
Passenger seat becomes ownership, app and £ becomes psychology student looking for a minimum wage job in an unrelated area.
Maybe the original post was some sort of Uni project to see the reaction?
Bizarre

Oh dear God; OP is hilarious.

From 19 year old student, desperately trying to break into the 'supercar' industry with no thoughts of a career path to a Ferrari something-or-other owner who has made loads of money developing a mobile phone app... laugh

Love it!

Welcome to PH mate; please feel free to supply your own custard....

Call all the bullst you want - didn't mention it previously because if I had done everyone would've slammed me for driving a car daddy bought.

Anyway, i know who's position id rather be in, and I no longer need to explain myself to you muppets, goodbye.

Oh you're back, oh no gone again....

I know whose position I would rather be in. It involves hard work and being HUMBLE.
You do realise you have no right to call anyone in here a muppet given your 'priveleged' position of a 'supercar' bought by someone else and a bizarre half story of boasting and seeking a menial job at the same time.

He said he bought the Ferrari himself, not that he was bought it.

Strange thread.

OP started off well, if a little naive as to what a potential employer would be looking for (for a job in the actual industry) but after securing a delivery driver job (hints at being able to drive the cars are just a hook to get you to take the job) he then changes his name and bangs on about his Rosso Corsa Ferrari F430 and how he's somehow a self made man at age 18.

So
So
Odd

I thought that other user (iphonedU) was someone else joining in to back OP up.

Most confusing.

I think people are being a bit harsh to OP, I know plenty of teenagers who are (well I know I was) unintentionally self absorbed and obviously not worldly wise. It's too easy to lay into them on a forum when they come out with some of this stuff.

OP - you ought to know better than react and give people more ammunition though.

No, was just pointing out to V6PushFit that nobody, including OP, said anything about a Ferrari having been bought for him by his dad.

That notwithstanding the entire thread being, largely, hogwash.

My nephew bangs on about making an app to make his fortune and 'supercars' all the time too, rather naive but hes just 15 bless him. Hopefully he'll go to uni to study psychology engineering or computing so hes got the grounding not just the bullst.

Hi piston heads,

I'm a 19 year old student very knowledgable about supercars, both modern and classic, who would love an opportunity to do some summer work in the industry, and am willing to work in any sector, long hours and low pay.

I have grown up around supercars and super bikes and have loved them since a very young age, and would love to one day end up in the business, whether it be setting up a supercar dealership of my own, or perhaps a customisation business like TechArt and Brabus (or perhaps both!)

Please email me with anything you may know or you may be able to offer, and would really appreciate anything that comes my way, and am willing to work hard and to take things seriously.

Thanks,
mtrants
I've got a bit of time for any 19yr old kid who decides they have a goal and tries to pursue a dream. Offering to work long hours with low pay for pretty much any role in the industry just to gain some experience.

Thinking back to when I was 19 I don't think I would've dealt very well with the criticism thrown his way on this thread from older/wiser heads and i'd say the thread has become a bit toxic through very little fault of the OP.

Back on topic - Good luck to the OP in finding the work experience and hopefully carving out a career in the supercar industry. At 19, I had no idea what I wanted to do in life and wish i'd been more focused in finding opportunities and following a career path earlier.

Whether the 430 part is true, or a untruth in response to a barrage of criticism is irrelevant IMO. When I was about 20 I set a goal of owning a Ferrari before my 30th birthday and thought that was ambitious!

Thanks for this - nice to see ambition is appreciated, I've learnt my lesson however that PH is not the place to do it!

Don't get the wrong impression about PH; it's just there is a certain posting style on here that takes some getting used to and there is always a little bit of ribbing.

The correct way to deal with someone on here who has posted something a little aggressive or abruptly, is to smile, post something along the lines of 'thanks for the help' and move on.

Don't retaliate or throw a strop. Oh, and for Christ sake, don't brag. Nobody on here is impressed and you'll only be asked to prove it. When you can't, you'll be reminded of it everytime you post until you create a new username or stop coming on.

Good luck with the job.

Not sure if you have found anything yet or indeed have any ideas of precisely what you want to do but I maybe have something.

I have a collection of cars that I move around in the UK and occasionally Europe to various events. It's not glamourous work and it's long hours. I will pay a competitive hourly rate and travel expenses including any hotel stays on longer trips.

Most of the time will be driving a Land Rover and trailer. If it's of interest I will need to be convinced of your ability to drive with trailer. There are a few events where I will need the car driven to, from and possibly at the event. This aspect of the work you'll need to prove that your are competent. I will leave this to my head engineer to assess.

You would also be responsible for cleaning and preparing the cars for showing.

As I said its long hours and potentially a lot of waiting around but you would get a lot of exposure to the cars and potentially some delivery driving.

If this sounds interesting please PM me. I'd recommend avoiding replying to all. That's how you avoid the trolling from all those bitter and twisted people.

If interested I will need you to meet the team next week in London as we are only a few weeks away from the Mille Miglia.
P30LAM,

Thanks for replying, just PMed you, would love to talk!
