Is the job market over in Kuwait, Dubai and Abu Dhabi etc. on its arse like it is in the UK or is are there still opportunities?

The Mechanical and process safety fields in particular.

I can only talk for Kuwait as it's where I'm sat.

Things are busy. Generally we don't use process safety out here for my projects but draw on resources from the UK office when needed. Mechanical we do need & I've got another PHs cV being looked at. If you have experience as a mechanical engineer & have an engineering degree, PM me.

Will be in touch! Might be a bit quicker than I can move though as I'm on 3 months notice and was just fact finding at the moment.

Is a degree an essential? As I have 10 years offshore (mechanical) and before that in the merchant navy as an engineer.

Not necessarily in Kuwait, though it can make life difficult, IE: No degree = no driving license = no driving.

Under our contract it is mandatory for any engineer & a lot of non-engineer positions.

GT03ROB,

I'm a mechanical fitter by trade and have got a degree in mechanical engineering, I've spent a bit of time working abroad also. I'm interested to know what positions you've got going.
