I'd do Sedalia (looked there before moving to Parker. At the time, there were 3 houses for sale...) or Golden, even though the later is getting a little close to the Peoples Republic.

People's Republic of Boulder?

When I was leaving Colorado I picked up a lot of log cabin furniture on craigslist. It took me to a place not far from Idaho Springs called St Mary's Glacier. It's like a nestled cabin town 12000ft in the mountains. An amazing area. Goigle search just shows images of the glacier and not the town. I highly recommend a visit if you have not been.
