Anyone playing? I started a character the other day and I've only played for about an hour but it seems alright.

I probably don't have time in my life for another mmo but I like the traditional fantasy rpg feel of it.

I can't be arsed to start over, I spent many hours on it on the Xbox One and found it quite enjoyable. I have downloaded Heroes Of Sword Coast though.

Same for me on the PC, I think I played getting on for 700 hours and stopped nearly a year ago.

It's a decent example of the typical albeit dying quest format MMO, far better than the original reviews would suggest, and with the added bonus of being Forgotten Realms. Though the novels now replace "experiencing" that for me better than the game could if I'm honest.

How is HoSC? I know it got slated but haven't bothered to read any real world opinions. I adore Forgotten Realms having read/listened to nearly 40 of the novels thusfar, so had very high hopes for it. I never touched it and currently doing Divinity Original Sin, and have the Black Isle games which I never played to come.

I don't really know what's changed and would have no idea where to start with re-gearing; I got a bit tired after the big level etc. changes and more than half the vanilla dungeons got pulled, though I was quite enjoying doing Lostmauth and the skirmish for cash with my 2 chars.

As soon as I said that GTA:O put on an event that's too tempting to ignore so I've not played much more laugh.

I was reading a bit more about it though and it seems like it's got a fairly decent following so hopefully it'll have some life in it. I've always been put off getting a console mmo because console gamers seem to lose interest in games quite quickly. It's why I never bought the Elder Scrolls one even though I'm a fan of the series.

At least if that happens with this one, it was free.

I see that a few folks on my friends list are playing this game (and these are hardcore Destiny/COD/online multiplayer anything types) so perhaps it's worth a look

How easy is it to get into and does it require hours and hours of commitment and grind in order to get much out of it? What about solo play or is it strictly multiplayer all the way?

Thought I'd post in this thread as I guess PS4 has the biggest population. Is anyone here still playing??

I was going to post before but I've been busy getting back in to it. It's been good coming back now as there's just so much end-game content to get through, six modules released since I was last playing, and an expansion to the 12th has recently released on PC (this week on console I believe).

I've been trying to catch up to be able to handle the latest content effectively, all gear pre-module 10 is essentially deprecated and its taken me this time to get from 5k ish gear score to 10.5k. The basic gear from mod 12a is dirt cheap available from the Auction House which helped me get going and push through the earlier stuff and avoid wasting time acquiring non-viable gear just to be able to progress PVE. I've halved the time I'm having to spend each week, with only two previous mods to finish, but I'm now able to get by in mod 12a/b (even the bloody gobolins hit like a truck and there seems to be a swarming mechanic of some sort) and making a start on BiS endgame build, for now.

The new refinement system helps a lot with upgrading enchants etc. having halved costs, but it is still exponentially expensive to get your artifact weapons, neck and belt slots to Legendary, and all four of your artifacts to the new Mythic top level, which everyone but me seems to have. I'm not finding it too hard to hit the daily currency cap if I want to, but it seems the money is really in the 'Masterwork' professions which you need to be in a guild to do.

I've put £10 in to buy refinement points to get 3 artifacts to Legendary, though you will get 0000s of RP per week via kills these days. The issue is, all eight artifacts/artifact items, require 200k+ RP each zero to maximum..

I also paid £15 for three months of 'VIP', which seems to be very much worth it indeed as it pays for itself. The currency bonus nets you around 15% on salvaged items. You get a lockbox key every day, which I'm using to open the release before last as the drops are better, making 2-300k a week from selling the packs that drop I don't want to open.

Yeah I am playing on the PC. I picked it up last November time when I was looking for something new to play and haven't really put it down since!

My main is a HR, sitting about 13k IL at the moment, working my way through Storm Kings and chult before starting Omu. It's a bit of a grind but strangly compelling to keep coming back to do the next days tasks!

I'm an HR too, previously GWF main but I didn't feel like using it this time around. Which build, Stormwarden Combat? I'm still on Stormwarden Archery, which is out of favour, but I seem to be doing ok with my playing style and rotations.

I think I might have two ilvl walls to get through before 13k smile Its been more tricky getting my arpen up, now at 65% with bondings on a striker companion, but it's going to take a while to reach 85%

Stormwarden Trapper at the moment, I am thinking about moving to combat, but I am quite set in my ways for play styles and I find if I try changing I just end up dead...maybe once I have moved through most of the campaigns I'll think about changing. My damage output is pretty decent so I can get by for now even though I know Combat is the new top of the tree.

Yeah I hit a few walls when gearing up...mostly around how many RP I can generate when I play...between 5-15k seems about average so take a while to increase the level of your items. Getting the trailblazer gear from the protector seals vendor and the Chult weapons is the easiest way to gear up initially, but after that it's a grind.
