What kind of diagnosis would result in the Equality Act coming into play? I can't see anything in the OPs posts which suggest this might be relevant...
any long term diagnosis which has the potential to effect someone;s normal activities ...

I have depression and a 18 months or so ago, I was signed off for 3 weeks.
When I left the company 4 months later it was not mentioned at all.

Quick update - felt awful on Friday and took a sick day. Back at work yesterday, the chap who "dumped" me on a project was back and said that wasn't ideal (no st) but that he wasn't expecting anything to have moved on significantly as "it usually takes people months to ramp up" rolleyes

Something of a relief and that has definitely made me feel better about things. However, I'm still certain I need to leave the current company / role as it's not really giving me any real satisfaction.

Couple of leads, phone interview that went well (face-to-face being arranged) and investigating the opportunity for freelance / contract work. The latter seems more appealing at the moment as I'm tentative about jumping straight back into employment.

I have spoken to a couple of the directors at work about things (cards on table type thing) and they too have suggested I give the EAP a call before I make any decision so I am going to take that up.

No, feeling well enough that I don't currently see a need to. If I still felt like I did on Friday, I definitely would have.

however without a diagnosis etc your problems remain a performance and capability issue not a health one ...
