Who enjoys their job?
Discussion
No, my role has increasingly changed towards an all out admin position. I do not require an engineering qualification for my duties.
The industry is on its knees, have had several close shaves with redundancy and morale in general is at an all time low. Thankfully I am vastly over-paid which softens the blow.

I love mine. I clean windows in and around West Dorset, East Devon and Somerset. On a good day I get to enjoy beautiful scenery and get to see places I wouldn't normally. When work is up to date it's brilliant - when it rains incessantly it isn't. We haven't really had a Winter for a few years down here but on previous occasions working in the snow I have questioned some of my life decisions and career choices...
Tricky.
Some days I do recently.
For about 18 months until a couple ago I really didn't, but I've (partly) moved into a new role which is more varied and challenging, so that's perked it up a lot for me.
I really liked my last company and job, but sadly when my boss left the company employed a totally unsuitable person to replace him and, almost overnight, it went downhill very quickly.
I joined this company instead and, as with anything new, it was ok for a while but soon got dull as it's very easy work, but extremely frustrating.
The company is pretty good, people are nice, but everyone's so busy and most work remotely, so I don't see a lot of them, and I'm fairly rewarded with decent perks, so I've no reason to complain really.
Hopefully I'll do more of my new role and less of the old (it's supposed to be a 50-50 split at the moment, but the new role seems to demand more of my time and I can see I could do a lot more if I didn't have the distractions of my old role) and that will keep my interest up for while.

Driving an HGV is utterly frustrating and stressful.
Please elaborate. I'm interested in this Profession.Driving an HGV is utterly frustrating and stressful.
My answer is yes and no. The sector I work in (Healthcare) is fascinating but my job is very boring and the pay is st.
Everybody hates a HGV driver, getting in everybody's way.
I'm out.
I do. I'm the assistant manager of an interior landscaping (office plants in other words) firm.
In practice this means organising the schedules of six staff to go out and do the maintenance, doing the sales and deliveries, the stock ordering and also some of the unusual jobs, which can be indoor plants, gardening, a bit of DIY at times, etc.
I spend a lot of time driving the vans that I chose to buy (so quick ones) and as my boss is very hands off I am not really managed in any major sense.
On the minus side it can be very physically hard, and I don't greatly enjoy line management of the odd staff member that doesn't pull their weight. The workload also fluctuates wildly between manic and nonexistent. Which is why sometimes I post a lot then vanish!

I love my job, really properly do. It is a big part of your day and unless you are enjoying it will create negativity in other areas.
Typically my day is:
06:30 wake up
07:00 kitted and ready
07:30 ride to work
08:30 shower and get dressed
08:45 start morning shift
12:00 running time
13:00 return for afternoon work
18:00 finish work
18:15 kitted and out on my bike
19:30 ride home (extra miles for training)
20:00 showered and eating with kids
21:00 gym (if i lucky)
3 or 4 training sessions a day, whilst having a day job. Could not be happier!

Yep I love mine.
I'm in the police. Every day is totally different and although conditions can sometimes be st (two cops on our team who had to stand next to a body for 10 hours in a forest in the pouring rain without a break last night) The banter and team spirit makes up for it. And the fact we spend a lot of time driving at high speed, catching bad folk and getting to see / do stuff no one else can.
10 years down and still look forward to going to work

Yes! LOVE it.
Has an element of bad as does any job. Projects are only as good as I make them. Some days are hard some days are easy - like today, riding around On Boris Bikes location scouting.
Totally and absolutely love it though. Commercial Photographer working for myself with a team of 2.

I'm surprised you find any time to spend banging your girlfriend who is half your age because you are so obsessed with working out. Typically my day is:

Those of you who said yes maybe shed some light on what you do? It could be useful to those of us looking to change.
I think realistically the issue is what do YOU enjoy doing?I left a job I hated to train for four years to undertake my job now, which I see myself doing until I am 65 at least, all being well. But it is what I wanted to do......

Driving an HGV is utterly frustrating and stressful.
Depends on the job and circumstances. I do it (self-employed) and for the most part enjoy it and make good money from it. This past few weeks my run has been a round trip from Leeds up to the NE, across the A69 through Carlisle to the W side of the Lakes near Workington then back across the Lakes to the A66 and back down to Leeds. Very enjoyable driving on Cumbria's empty A and B roads in the early hours with a lightly loaded trailer . A1 not so enjoyable though .Driving an HGV is utterly frustrating and stressful.
