Long and short of it, found out today that the company i was working for has just gone pop, with immediate effect.

From what I've seen on the government website, am i right in saying that we're entitled to not just basic redundancy money, but also the notice period + outstanding holidays that would have been paid had I left via the normal process?

Just want to confirm a few things..

In theory ...
  • Your notice pay
  • Any outstanding holiday pay for the portion of the year worked
  • Statutory redundancy pay
I don't know how the company going 'pop' might affect your ability to actually lay your hands on what you're entitled to.

If the company don't have the fund's to pay redundancy the government pays it, but obviously only at the minimum rate.

How old are you and how long have you worked for the company?

Age can make a big difference

If they have gone pop that is all you will get I'm afraid.

Sorry for being nosey. Looked you up on LinkedIn... you work for the same place I do. Its been a rocky two years, we originally went bust just over a year ago and were bought by the the owner of the group and eventually merged. Can't say I am surprised at the announcement by the owner yesterday.

Feel free to PM me if you want. Be interesting to hear whats gone on from the other parts of the business. You worked at Woodford so we may have bumped into each other at some point!

We were given payslips yesterday as it was payday for us. No money in the account though. I suspect that will be it, we're bottom of the pile when it comes to getting money out. Creditors etc will be paid first. So I would assume the minimum payment from the government is all we will see. I had at least 20 days holiday left as well.
