Changing career
Discussion
I can relate to much of what is written here.
On leaving school I served an apprenticeship in the motor trade. A few years and a couple of garages later I decided it was not for me. So I left and tried a few different things, forestry work, bar work and tarring roads.
Then I took myself to college and onto uni. Worked bloody hard and eventually qualified as a chartered surveyor.
But, I just don't enjoy the work, to be honest I found there was more job satisfaction in the garages (but much less money)
So I'm looking to do something different again but it gets harder the older, less single and more financially relied upon you become.
I think I would like to go to sea, considered it when younger, but opportunities are limited.
Good luck to the OP in whatever you end up doing!
