New job but not what was advertised!
Discussion
Hoping someone can help! My wife took a new job and started Monday. Trouble is it isn't the job that was advertised and what she was led to believe she would be doing! Think being a mechanic, going for a job advertised as a mechanic & turning up to be told you would be a sales person. She's spoken to her boss and they say they interviewed more than one person and had two new starters, the other person has ended up doing what my wife should be doing. She's spoken to her new boss who has basically said it's tough st, the job that is now available is the one she is doing. As she doesn't like it I guess moving on will be the only option, it seems a tad unfair though that someone with a history of long stretches of employment with prior to this will be seen as not sticking at a job. Can employers do this? Thankfully she hasn't signed the contract yet but they do have her P45 so I guess that may have been processed so this job will have to be mentioned on her CV? TIA.
Well if the P45 has been processed then this employment even though for a week or 2 would show up? Although maybe not until new employment is found but it may look good if it isn't mentioned? What a stty mess this all is. I can't believe someone can be such a st bag as to offer someone a job and then when they start tell them it's something completely different.
I wouldn't worry about it.
I worked for a Solicitors firm for 6 weeks and couldn't stand the commute so arranged to get my old job back. I've never put that on my CV even despite the P.45 being done and the contract signed etc as it's simply not worth the hassle of having to explain why I was only there for 6 weeks to any potential new employer.
In my mind, and from my CV's point of view, I never had that job. Nobody has every questioned me about it.
