Hello!
My friend is a grad at Ford and he is on a very good salary, little above 30k and I am planning to apply there too.
But do you know how the salary goes up as you get promotions, to Supervisor, LL6, LL4, etc?
Also how easy is to get promotions?
Any information would be appreciated, if you want you can pm me as well.
thanks!

LL6 approx £65k max
LL5 approx £85k max
LL4 approx £110k?

What you need to remember, is that internal promotions have a max increase of 10% (very unusual to be any different), so you can get less senior people earning more than their managers if they have been there a long time.

Don't know what it's like now but when I left Uni I applied to work for Fords, very hard interview process, I got to the second round which involved an overnighter in a hotel. Didn't get a job though but then I think they did me a favour as the work I was after, something in electronics such as engine management, they didn't really seem to have available at the time and were more interested in putting me in some sort of production managment / control position. Not really what I was after.

But at the time the graduate pay seemed very attractive compared to a lot of the other places I was looking at and I could have lived at home paying minimal housekeeping.

Good luck if you go for it.

Initial promotions can be relatively swift.

Graduate scheme lasts a couple of years with pay steadily ramping until you become a grade 7. Progressing to grade 8 will depend very much on how good you are obviously but could be as little as a year, might take 2-3.

Grade 8 into the leadership level is where it gets tricky. It isn't impossible but there is a large pool of grade 8's all looking to make the same jump so you have to really set yourself apart and push hard.

Ford is a good company to work for, with great facilities and excellent work/life balance but if you want to be on 65k+ in a short time frame then it probably isn't for you.

Id.

P.S. Obviously I work for them, this is all my own opinion and not the view of the company etc.
