Mrs Anonyrat39 is considering taking a couple of years to be a stay-at-home mum after her maternity leave is over.

We can just about, with difficulty, get the budgeting to work on just my salary, but it'll be very tight - she's the higher earner so it'll be a lot to lose out on. If we can find a way for her to earn £200-£500 a month from home, that would make things a bit easier.

Although she's educated (8 years of uni) and experienced in her profession (mental health industry), her skills are very specialised and her job is not something that's possible to do privately/independently/part-time/from home.

Any ideas? (not porn)

You might find some useful info on the Business forum here, this has been asked before.

Just a suggestion, but if she is the higher earner and you are going to struggle, would it not make more sense for you to be a stay at home dad?

To be honest, i'd be surprised if she can find the time.

We are quite lucky really as I work for myself from home and my wife is a 'stay at home' mum, but even then things can be challenging.

Getting any business of the ground can be challenging, even small scale. Add the challenges of being a 'stay at home parent' (which i know from experience can be harder then going to work) and things are going to be pretty tough for her.

Have you checked about her employers rules about not returning after maternity pay. My wife had to go back to work for six months to keep her maternity pay.....

She then did not work for two years. She has recently started working with a start up company started by someone in her exact position. They are selling stuff through Facebook and eBay... crafting stuff. They have recently featured on a shopping channel and growing the business. My wife not only works for that business but has started using the waste off cuts of material into her own small business, selling purses through the sam e channels.

It is small at the moment and takes about 16 hours per week, but brings in a few hundred extra per month.

Whatever she does don't get sucked into Facebook Marketing - Aloe Vera, Herba Life, Juice Plus, Organo Gold, Pampered Chef, etc etc. Loads of my wife's friends have gone through them after stopping work and they've not made any money and just pissed off all their friends.

Sadly you can't watch the video in the UK but John oliver's piece on the reality of these was brilliant...

Funny you should say that. My wife's friend has started an Arbone (?spelling) thing and is well on the way to pissing off all of her friends.

Came into advise this.

Its a bit outside the box but easy guaranteed money, dont have deal with people like selling stuff does. Takes a bit of learning to begin with and some basic maths but pretty simple, Need some money to start with, This amount varies per person/opinion but i would say about £250 to start with then your balance will build up from there.

Just read about matched betting - never heard of it before, but can see how it works, very interesting..

Just one question - once you have used your 'free bet' with one company is that it? Are you allowed another if another offer comes up?

As a member of various sites you'll often be sent additional offers / free bets.

There are such a high number of sites out there and also guides to follow, even websites which will find the bets for you.

Think I did about £3k profit in 6 months about 4 years ago.

Moved house and have new bank cards now so should really start again!

What he said, plenty of offers from each bookie but it can be a bit time consuming. I made about £7k profit in 12 months, mostly from weekend work on Horse's and football. However, i'm now barred from taking part in most bookie's offers and promotions so i can only make about ~£250 a month, if i can be bothered these days. I did actually enjoy it as you had to engage your brain and the more effort you put in, the more reward.

I'd give these guys a try

https://www.profitaccumulator.co.uk/

More than worth the monthly fee, once you have an account with all bookies you can still earn plenty of money.
Each bookmaker have "reload offers" so plenty to do each day (especially the weekends)
Like someone said it's very time consuming but if you're not working you can easily make a grand+ a month.
If working full time £250-£500 is more than achievable.
