Travel Expenses - what is "reasonable"

Last company I worked at, had all travel arrangements completed through an agency and so was pre-approved. Travelling class was determined by length of flight - but again covered by the agency. Meals/ drinks were not capped however I suspect my boss would have had a quiet word if I was excessive - I never was and if I wanted more drinks than I thought reasonable I would dip into my own pocket.

New company I have not travelled nearly as much - but there is no set policy/ or limits.
