Don't do it...

I worked for evans halshaw Vauxhall.

Possibly the single worst company I have ever worked for.
I can only echo this, I worked for EH Ford, truly awful. I stayed 6 months and in that time the staff turnover was huge.

Nobody, including management at Pendragon level, cared about anyone else. You are just a tiny number. The pay plan is pathetic too, £10 per car!

EH is all about numbers, their pay plan really is brutal but if you sell lots, you do get paid more. Other garages work differently and will pay better etc but EH is a good test to see if you'll get on in the job I suppose as they chuck you in and it's sink or swim!!

Following the Car Sales Memes page on Facebook tells me that I never want to work in car sales, but there are some very amusing characters in it. Lots of far too tight trousers on display too.

Yes it starts at £10 per car, goes up when you hit 9 or 10 car I think. Plus you get paid for selling finance, GAP, extended warranty etc... It wasnt worth the stupid long hours (late nights until 8pm) and hassle to earn £1200 if it was quiet, so I didn't stay long.

I worked in car sales when i was a lot younger, the pay was rubbish, the hours long (300+ hours a lot of months) but i actually enjoyed it.

There probably wasn't as much pressure to push all the additional products back then right enough.

I only did it for just over a year and enjoyed the experience, it was a real eye opener at times!

Good luck with the interview.
