Suit for definite.
Plain tie and pattern shirt or
Pattern short and plain tie.

First impressions matter, and a lack of effort on that first interview may not get you a second interview.

If there are multiple candidates of similar skill set. You are competing with them and there is no point in giving yourself a disadvantage.

You can't be criticised for going fully suited and booted - you could be viewed less favourably doing any less.

Don't make your self more anxious than you may already be by second guessing it.

Unless I am going for a beach lifeguard job, I tend to avoid patterned shorts for an interview wink

Suit with a tie.

No-one (sensible that you’d want to work for) will judge you negatively for overdressing.

I’m in various job processes at the moment and I know I will have to squeeze myself into my one remaining suit when it comes to face to face interview time.
This is the advice you will hear time and time again and its less stress: it is better to be over dressed than under dressed.
Suit up to the 9s and walk in like you own the place.
