It's not really a barn find though, is it?
It's a collector/investor who bought the cars new, housed and ooked after them, with a view to selling them for a profit at a later date.

ArmaghMan said: perhaps the reason for it being on Ebay is that it can be sold anywhere in the world. I see your point. But any of the medium to big auction houses are set up to facilitate buyers worldwide too plus there have several advantages over the likes of eBay. Mind, eBay would be far cheaper but imo it's not the place to sell high end modern classics.

This auction just scream price manipulation to me!
I have no idea about the provenance of the two UK cars listed on the PH classifieds but both are listed for under £60k. I know another dealer 4 star classics had one in the low £50k's last year that took a while to shift. One of the UK cars has only done 40,000 miles and could probably be bought for £55k so is a 20,000 mile car really worth £30k more ?!?!
There's just no way if you really wanted to buy that car you'd be bidding right now at hose prices...whoever is bidding is just trying to force the price up.
Bloody lovely car though!

So are we looking at the 100 grand E30 M3 Sport ?
When I bought my old '87 in M3 for 9k in 2000 couldn't justify the extra 5k for a Sport...... Crazy times we're in at the moment

Strange, more bids the last day or so but has dropped from 85100 to 85000. Someone must have pulled their bid.

The sale didn't complete last time it was on ebay! Just someone (and associates) running the price up before selling it on the normal market.
I expect to see it for sale somewhere with POA soon. Any enquiries will be met with "well, it was bid up to 85k on ebay, but the seller pulled out and I can't be bothered with the hassle again"!

The pictures are taken at the BMW dealer, in Stevenage Herts, but they are not the sellers.
