Fair enough 996, you didn't like yours (mainly because of the brakes from your threads/posts) - as you say, life's about different opinions - sure the OP will make his own mind up. I must admit though, I've not come across anyone else who's bought a decent M5 that doesn't rave about it
The tiff track test on original top gear is a great testament to the overall ability of the car. I'm sure there are many other examples on the web!It may not be everyones taste, but it IS a great car. I guess it doesnt suit everyones driving style - personally I can't stand turbos for instance, yet I know an EVO 8 is a great car to drive.
I love the M5 (and M3) for the fact they are NA both have an exploitable chassis.
I'm not trying to sway the OP and when I was looking for an M5 no matter what anyone would have said I'd have brought one. I've no doubt most petrol heads are the same when you've got your heart set on something you'll get it regardless.
I.E the amount of bad press early Ducatis had for reliability I still got one and went to Monaco on it without a glitch.
Likewise the M5 every man and his dog said get a facelift, uses less oil, no vanos issues, I brought the best car I could find which happened to be pre facelift and it used no oil and never missed a beat, brakes were shocking but hey could have upgraded if I wanted to.
I just simply didn't find it that thrilling and it didn't satisfy me as i thought it would.

i don't need swaying!i've got one. i was simply moved to post by the breadth of talents i've found in my M5. i bought it last summer as an addition to a car which i couldnt really see me replacing-an F355, generally regarded, rightly imo as one of maranello's finest. only to find myself not missing driving the fezza and coming to the realisation that i couldnt justify keeping it, i just was not using the thing. the whole thing has suprised me to be fair as i still dont hanker after it.
ps. in my humble opinion to compare a modern sports bike with a four door saloon is a tad harsh!

Indeed. fking muppet!ARGHHHHHH!
Hate it when people misuse the word brought! It's just that word though, any other spelling or grammar error, I don't give a fcvuk. I don't know why it upsets me so much, maybe it's because the user doesn't realise it's the WRONG FCVKIKNG WORD!!!
