I THINK OF PURCHASING THIS E30 M3 BUT IS IT REALLY WORTH THE 85K???

Depends some what as to what you want to do with it, if you actually want to drive it then you're better off getting a sound car with miles on it and using it although a £20k car may, read that as probably, will need a few £K pumping into it to sort out issues.
If you want a 'museum' piece then this type of car(the 18.6k mile) is the one for you, and yes it looks like it is in as new condition.
As an a side note, ML have this for sale, they've had it since at least August last year as they had it at Gaydon.
