Thanks for your comments......... But just to clarify.... I don't need to add a badge to my car, trying to pretend something it isn't...... I am very happy my car is an m50d.....I am possibly thinking of taking it off for aesthetic reasons only.

Great car. Remove the X6 badge only.

Yes, I can see the case for debadging the car.

I had my E39 M5 debadged, and will debadge the E60 M5 when I get it in 2 weeks. I like the stealthiness.

The specific case for yours is nothing to do with the "M" but more that all those letters and numbers simply look messy, IMHO. However, it is as BMW delivered it, and not a case of you pretending something it is not. So the simple answer is, what do you like the most? Personally I would either leave it as is, or debadge completely.

It would look better with the X6 on the other side!

Thanks for all the comments re debadging........for those interested I've done approx 400 miles in the first week and computer read out indicates an average of 26.9mpg with the longest trip of 150miles....the rest testing acceleration.....so not bad Imoa.

I've just bought one of these.

Absolutely amazing car to drive; immense luxury, plenty of power, lots of torque and little body roll for its mass and dimensions.

I have the individual audio system too, which is awesome smile

(p.s. I have left the original badging on. I did consider putting "M50d" on the sides to match the same format as used by the 30d, 35d, 50i, 40d, etc. but then I decided against it as its harder to clean/detail the doors!)

Has anyone driven one ? We used to have a 40d and on paper the M50d seems a lot more powerful (about 30% up on power + torque)?

Been thinking of buying a Cayenne Diesel but have always had a soft spot for BMW's moon buggy....

Don't mean to start a debate about whether the M-Performance models are real //M cars - if this post belongs in the General BMW section, maybe one of the mods could please move it.
I have and it was not that great, I managed 28MPG eventually , it's big bus to haul around, I had the 640D X6 and that was not what I call fast at all, this is better but not by that much IMO.
BUT thats after getting out of my LCI M5, so for a diesel it is quite quick.

This was mine:

Thanks! We ended up buying one in 2012. <400 mls and the first buyer had ticked almost every box on the option list (list price was c.£96k!).

We've been running it as our family car since and it has been amazing. Still feels amazingly quick, and us v well suited to the ZF 8-Speed auto.

Just debating whether to change it for something else. Only issue is that we've been spoilt with such an amazing spec car, so will be difficult to find something equivalent!

Luke.

I wouldn't get rid, would be impossible to replace unless you spend silly money. What do you reckon it would be worth now?
