Thanks for that, at least we know where we stand now.
As for the stoptech disks, they have been faultless for me over the last three years, but on inspection recently they have perished badly on the 'cooling' fins. This isn't just surface rust either, luckily I have a spare set so will fit them. But do keep an eye open on them as mine looked fine until I took a closer look.
That's very interesting! Do you by any chance have pictures of the issue so i know what i should be looking out for? Could the road salt you have laid during the winters be a factor? We don't have any out here.

Maybe, they have seen some usage mind (held up very well). No pics sorry as I'm not near them at the moment!

I RUN bmw discs (Will replace with pf discs when worn) and CARBOTEC xp10 ( or xp8) pads with ap race fluid and hel brake lines.
best road/track car set up for your M car by far.

I use PF discs and PF 08 pads. Castrol SRF fluid and braided lines. About the best set up you can run without going to the expense of a BBK. IIRC £800 ish.

Second E46 M3, second purchase of this set up. Superb performance for the money.
BTW, I'm pretty sure PF don't do the slightly larger size disc for the CSL. The 'normal' M3 size is the only option. CSL owners can change their caliper carriers to normal M3 in order to accommodate.

If you looking for an E92 M3 i have a pair of performance friction front discs which are barely used.. real quality items but sold the M3 before i had a chance to use them.

And also have pads front and rear RS29 yellow Pagid. Incredible stopping power and fade resistance but they do squeal if you do get them warm regularly. If you do not that much.. but if you do town driving they dont like it. You can always swap them only for track mind you..

Have the full kit at home. Let me know if interested. The pads are also pretty new.. still all yellow..
