This car deserves to be in this forum fact, fast forward to 3:20, and drool.....
I'm not convinced about that video - others have commented on it that it's a 135i coupe (with some sort of remap).

Absolutely not, because that's precisely what I am doing! Well, to be clear, I'm not part-exing because that would be lunacy, but I am selling my E60 M5 and replacing it with a 5dr M135i.I love the M5 but for most of the driving I do, it feels like using a sledgehammer to crack a peanut. So, after 18 months, I feel like I have now scratched my V10 itch and the M135i seemed like the only suitable smallish practicalish weapons-grade replacement (suitable in that it has a proper engine (ie more than 4 cylinders) and can be had with a proper gearbox (ie a manual) and can be had with 5 doors. The fact that it "only" costs £30k new is just the icing on that particular cake.
Plus the running costs on an M5 are quite extravagant as you will know, and the running costs on a new M135i are a fraction (no servicing costs, no annual warranty extension costs, half the tax cost, half the insurance cost, half the fuel bill etc). And frankly, M5s still have a long way to go before they stop depreciating, so the difference on that is not as big as you might think with a new car either.

Does seem a fast car too, modern BMW's car be driven so fast and I'm sure this car only enhances that reputation.

A very positive review but I must admit to being slightly surprised by the comment that the M135i it weighs 70kg less than a 1M coupe and hence has a very similar power to weight ratio. The weight figure quoted in the article (1425kg) is a lot less than the 1515kg quoted for the auto on BMW's own website so I just wonder if the journalist is talking apples and apples; suspect the number for the 1M includes the standard EU allowance for a driver and fuel whereas the figure quoted for the M135i doesn't. Still don't doubt that the M135i is a cracking little car but it does irritate me when people who are being paid to write these articles can't even get the basic facts right; leaves me wondering why should I believe anything they say when the bits I can verify quite easily are wrong!!http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Drives/Search-Results...

The weight would depend on 3 or 5 doors, wheel size, auto or manual, DIN or EU measurement, unladen or laden, options fitted and whether quoted wet or dry.The unladen weight is quoted officially as 1430kg(DIN) 1505kg(EU) for the manual.

Indeed but the article and table of facts and figures all quote the 3 door automatic which, according to BMW's own figures, weighs 1515kg using the standard EU measure. However, on the same basis the 1M weighs 1570kg which is more than I thought; don't know why but I had it in my mind that the 1M weighed a touch less than a 135i coupe but clearly not! Therefore, my apologies to the man at Car magazine; the derivative of the new M135i they tested isn't quite 70kg lighter than a 1M but it's getting on that way. Even BMW's various quoted weights are an enigma code.
I like it that the M135 is lighter than the 1M and reasonably light for a 6 cylinder hatch. I love it and would buy one tomorrow but I'd open the garage every morning and those headlights would be staring at me.
