They saw 534bhp on BP Ultimate - sweet! What a masterpiece of an engine.

Yep that's fine I just wanted to see your thoughts on it really as on the odd time I've run mine on 95 it has been fine and not felt any different at all. If you have first hand experience of cars running lower on the RR when fuelled on 95 only then I can understand those thoughts. It's interesting though all the tech in the M5 with the plugs doing the knock sensing.
Mostly V Power and sometimes boggo shell unleaded. It's hard to tell although sometimes going from UL to VP it sometimes feels smoother.

Given that VP is 99 RON, the thing that makes me laugh is the sticker on the inside of the filler cap.

Eddie

Might we worth speaking with the previous owner of my car as hes a tuner based down in Middlesex and an authorised DINAN dealer.

PM me if you want his details.

Like Ive said in previous posts my car does feel subjectively quicker than the standard car and puts out 567 bhp but its likely to be a combination of the map and the intake.

Yes, generally if well serviced the v10 will make the factory stated output.
Anything in particular you're referring to when you say "well serviced"?

Evolve seems to have nailed it: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60-m5-e61-m5-tou... They also do the AlphaN modification.

im following this with interest as would be interested in removal of the limiter and if it can give it a mid range boost and maybe extend the revs a little higher for more power that would be great.

Tricky subject! Everyone will have a different opinion! Really any point in getting a normally aspirated engine remapped? Sure a very small amount but at what cost? I think a lot of remapping on a standard car is mostly about peoples peace of mind and seeing a dyno result… I’m sure some people can feel a difference in 507-530bhp but not many I’d suggest.

The 3 you have named DMS and Evolve have a great reputation. I’ve used DMS to remap my previosu E60 M5 each time I had it modified and I was happy with the results, Rob really cared about keeping going when I came back from Italy with the first ever right hand drive headers and milked it for all its worth. I’ve now got light mods on mt 20110 M5 and went back to DMS.

That being said I WOULD use Evolve also, so many people say so many good things about them. With Evolve it’s NOT just about a dyno, they actually prove it and run the cars on a timer and take them to places like Vmax. I will at some stage get some headers on this beats and go to Evolve.

As for CA…. I have HUGE respect for CA, Roy and Phil, been helpful to me for all my mods on 2 M5s now! But you need to note it is NOT CA that carry out remapping it is a company called AL Tuning in Langley Reading.

I have only once had a bad experience with a remap and it was done by AL (the company CA use) BUT I am just one of a few, MANY people here and M5 Board have excellent experience with them. Since then I've always used DMS, Rob runs an E60 M5 and has worked wonders for all the different maps I've had done.

As I say, no reflection on CA, Roy or Phil and maybe I'm the only one who had negative experience with AL.

Below might be a useful link if you want to learn more about AL Tuning

I really just meant a car running to spec, ie not needing a service, like new plugs, filter etc.

I am looking at a DMS remap and I'm also going down the silencer delete route (maybe add a smaller silencer). Anyone got a DMS map on their? I've heard 570ps/580Nm with DMS map, secondary cat delete and full SS exhaust.

I'm not sure I understand where you're coming from here. If CA endorse AL Tuning, then surely it must be a reflection on them if the work of AL Tuning is defective.

Hi all
Had the m5 on the dyno last week. Got there at the crack of dawn.
We took all the good stuff of ie air fillters and exhaust off first. Put my little toy dyno and it made 504 bhp.
Then put her back to gether smile And then back on the dyno and made 511 bhp with standard tune still in. And the got jason at bw chiptune to have a little play by the end of the day. I now have a more powerfull car. Not by much. But after driving it home and all weekend there is a big differance when you go past 5000rpm. Any way i now have a 530+ bhp car and a very happy man.
So a big thanks to wortec for the exhaust.
And a big thanks to jason at bw chiptune. smile

Hi
I may of meet you at pauls house a long time ago.
Paul is very fussy what he tunes he nows v8s. But a v10 is alot differant.
If you have a look on youtube wortec m5 exhaust you will not be disapointed.
I am very happy with both the loud and quite sounds of the exhaust and with the new remote control
switch. Means there is no need to put holes in your dash smile

I've only ever used DMS but can't sing their praises high enough. You're given a pre and post map run to see the results of the map and Rob and his team are superb. My car has been back a few times to have the map tweaked after I fitted an Intercooler and deleted my secondary cats and they did the tweak at no charge, including another couple of dyno runs.

My advise would be to pick up the phone to each of the firms you've mentioned and talk to them. When I spoke to DMS they answered all of my questions and gave me huge confidence that they would not mess up my car smile

Al Tuning were banned from M3Cutters iirc after a load of incredibly dodgy work, however they do quite literally bum Evolve over there so i wouldnt take their word as gospel. Anyone who claims 50bhp from mapping an NA M car is quite frankly talking out of their bottom.

The proof is when you take your car down to Vixpy/Charlie/SRR and your dyno graph from the 'tuner' is proved to be nothing more than uncomfortable toilet paper when put on an independent, non-fudged rolling road.
