Not sure it will be an easy sell at £20k. Granted there are none in AUC stock at the moment but a few months ago when metsta's car was for sale by previous private owner (having been freshly serviced) for less than it is for sale for now, I still didn't consider it 'good value' when compared to an a number of AUC cars for mid £20's.......

With these cars, as a prospective purchaser, the 1 (or 2 if you are lucky) year AUC warranty (and lower cost monthly warranty thereafter) / record of recent major consumables done, is more important to me than saving <£5k by buying a higher mileage private sale car. The difference could quickly be used up in a) higher cost of non-monthly warranty on car over 60k or b) major items needing replacement.

Although having said that there is always a price point at which you would take the gamble, IMO would have to be £7.5k in my pocket to take the 'gamble'. The previous seller got it about right I would say when pitched against AUC stock - although metsta has the advantage as at today of there precisely 'zero' AUC E61's in the network, so supply and demand and all that.........

Frustrating really as I am in a position to buy and there are so few to consider, would love to find a late (58/09/59?) E61 M5 but seem non-existent. Driven E61 m5 and C63 estate (with PPP) and found the m5 much more involving. However, being drawn to the C63 due to more availability as beginning to get impatient now.

What was the production run like for the Touring? Was there an equal amount of cars produced over the years of its run? I just ask because every time I've looked, I've struggled to find a later-era E61 M5 for sale, its usually 2007 and early 2008 cars.

Am I right in thinking there were about 250 of these made for the UK market originally?
