I own the car in the photos in the original post and have done since 2001, I only loaned it to Chris Griffiths a couple of years ago until he ripped me off and I asked for it back shortly afterwards. But that's another story! When I get round to restoring it I'll post the story up...
Cheers,
Bryn
He hasn't posted in nearly a year - did you bump him off?Cheers,
Bryn

Very nice indeed, have you thought about putting ambers back on her, amber is the new black!!
A few more miles on this one than your's though TBH, I'd love to, but the problem is I'm struggling to find out what it originally came with, and I suspect it was with these clears. The original supplying dealer was in Warrington in '93, and they've been taken over since so I doubt anyone would know. The lower sills will be going back to silver soon enough though, not sure when they were colour-coded to Avus but I'm not a massive fanvetrof said:
Good stuff, even has the covers on the correct way.

Always fancied turbines for my M3.
E35 M5 have been way too cheap, for way too long. They look stunning when looked after and that champagne coloured interior is about as good as it gets in my opinion.
Any idea on numbers remaining?

Strangely, the E39 M5 does nothing for me. These however, excite me!
How do they handle compared to a more modern E46 M3? I can't imagine the two being that far off?
I would think the 3.8s aren't far off the pace of an E36 Evo when up and moving, and possibly even quicker at "higher" speeds. These things really come into their own at "higher" speeds It's a bit off an E46 in handling terms on back roads, although the size of it doesn't help either, but on a half-decent A-road they can really shift and are great fun. The engine is a beast, probably my favourite in a BMWHow do they handle compared to a more modern E46 M3? I can't imagine the two being that far off?

I am nearly certain that your car came with ambers, the 1993 M5 brochure shows ambers. The clear lenses only became an option on the face lifted wide kidney grille cars as far as I know.
I agree the sills will look much better back in their correct silver.
Good luck, looking forward to seeing the car at some point.

It's anyone's guess but I would imagine that less than half of the GB spec RHD cars are still remaining. (For beard purposes, 524 3.6 and 343 3.8 RHD cars built)
I personally know someone that has broken about 75 of them over the years. Many have found their way to mainland Europe to be broken up for LHD M5 spares. Most of the wrecks and boy racer modded cars are now gone leaving the few good examples that survived the cull.
As you say, they have been way too cheap for way too long. I think that is now changing, as finding a good original car now is difficult. My advice to anyone that really wants one is to buy a good one now!!
In five years people will be kicking themselves that they didn't grab one when they were cheap.
