About 7K i make that
From Ad.
"Original German market car with the Fahrzeugbrief still with the car. 2 owners in Germany before export to UK in 1998. Full Serviceheft and file including the original bills for maintenance which show an amazing level of spending totalling €40,000.. New engine fitted at 110000 km, car has covered 210000 km total. New exhaust, EDC units, window regulators, clutch & flywheel 20000 km ago, on & on.."

V.cheap considering only 60k miles on the engine & all the expensive bits replaced 12k miles ago.
I think that's bloody lovely.

Does look good value.

Talking of value.
Just had word that the work on my car is almost done, total labour 56 hours.
Now before you start wincing on my behalf, let me give you the hourly rates here (Czech Republic). BMW dealers - 800Kc/hr, the indy working on mine 200Kc/hr. Current exchange rate 1GBP = 36CZK

My bill, just over 300quid (plus parts). rofl

In truth, I was hoping to pick up one of the £2 or 3k cars that were around a while back, but seems I missed that particular boat.
Despite the awful tyres this might have been a workable example of a 3.6 for £3k;

Might have been tempted to take a look at that. (Despite the advert! smile )

Hi,

I now own this particular M5, its now in the body shop getting some major works done sills/bulkhead etc. I bought it as restoration Project, after looking a few examples for double the price with similar issues i decided to rescue this M5 as overall it has alot going for it.

Regards

I am really tempted by this. It looks a touch on the low side though which may mean suspension is an issue... Even though it is an earlier model.
Plus the mileage is stratospheric and there is no history.

I'm being an idiot.

Personally, if I had the cash, I would take a punt on this and restore at my leisure. It's a fine colour and with the way values are going, could be a shrewd investment? I imagine it would break for close to the asking price.

You've got a long time to wait for a high mileage, no history 3.6 to be worth the purchase price + cost of restoring. IMO.

Id agree re the long term value, tho ive seen worse examples go for more (judging on pics alone)

That said, no doubt a comprehensive restoration will set you back ££££'s and then some..

That's an awful lot of miles, far too many to make it ever be a serious investment even if it did have history. I think the sellers reason for purchase would be the best use of this car.

I wouldn't do it for financial reward though and a large part of the history cound be found with a little time and effort. There are only limited numbers available, so would be a shame to see another resigned to scrap.

I picked this m5 up a few weeks ago as a breaker but turns out its something special so decided to save it now.

Turns out its the only m5 painted in Furano green and the last 3.6 rhd to be built, interior is something special with full extended Connolly leather / green dash and door card tops smile

Engine has already been removed and sent of to be rebuilt smile

Well done M5pop, that car is definitely worth saving. I have never heard of Furano green before, but it looks very refined on an M5. The interior is amazing.

As it's the very last RHD 3.6 to be built, BMW GB must have decided to do something special with it. The exterior and interior are definitely individual special order spec.

That car must have been a sight to behold when brand new.
