Driven, both..... V10 engine crazy.

Newer model far more refined, far more viable day to day.... Almost too perfect....

Bit of an old thread but just wondered if the E60 M5 owners that moved on are glad they did or do any of you miss anything about your old E60?
I hardly use my E60 M5 anymore, spends weeks at a time sitting around not moving but I do enjoy it when I choose to use it. Been thinking of an F10 or F80 for the past year but finding it hard to part with my E60. I was the same when thinking of changing my old E39 M5 to the E60 and once sold I never missed it like I thought I would.

There is almost nothing I miss about the e60 compared with an f10 . Yes the e60 engine is special but so is that in the f10 , just in a different way . If it came down to pure driving enjoyment, however, I'd probably rate the e39 first , then the f10 with the e60 after that . The e39 is getting long in the tooth and I fear rust is now probably a worry on them all, but is such a lovely car to make progress in .
The e60 never seemed to be ballistic until you are in 3rd ( I think they are torque limited in 1st and 2nd ) and then you are travelling rather quickly .

In terms of gearbox - e39 , f10 , then anything other than an e60 !!

What's amazing about the F10 is that the engine and box are no more demanding than a 520d from a day to day usability perspective, same servicing, good on fuel easy to use but.......it has 600bhp and is hardly breaking a sweat either.

What a car!
