M135i - best discounts and finance rates?
Discussion
I went to Westerly Exeter today and finally tested one - EB with most toys but it had RFTs.
It was very cold so we (me and my wife) couldn't really go for it but it was a good indicator of how it drives.
The steering felt a bit grim at low speeds - horribly light and artificial but it got meatier at higher speeds. The ride quality was way better than expected, especially on RFTs. The space was decent enough and the bench seat meant we just squeezed two kids (on booster seats) and the wife in the back! The interior does feel a bit lower rent than our 335d, especially in the boot but it's a big step up over the old 1 series.
It goes very well and the gearbox is MUCH better than our 6 speed auto in the 335d. However it didn't feel crushingly superior in shove to ours but then we didn't get to really hammer it. It sounds MUCH nicer though!
It feels rather dark inside - our 335d had light headlining and a huge sunroof so is very light and airy which we like.
Overall I really liked it but I won't wear rose tinted specs!
Sadly the sales guy was pants - one of the worst I've ever seen. He also offered us a frankly insulting amount for our car (blaming his computer) then asked a silly amount for an ex demo and had the strangest sales "technique" I have ever seen.
Sytner has two nice looking ex demos that appeal and a well known dealer is looking for one for me too - there seem to be deals out there but I am getting a little narked with inept SW dealers!
Ocean Falmouth has been good (despite trying to rip me off on a minor repair to ours) to be fair and the sales guy decent. I'm just not sure I want to spend that much on a very low spec car, even though the price is very good. Ocean Plymouth has been diabolical.
I'll see what happens by the end of this week.

Vladimir, go to Babybmw.net and look on the m135i forum. There is a thread like this and on there is a sales manager from BMW called "TRL" offering c. £5.5 discount on new m136i's. He has sold over 31 of them on that forum... He can quote you, you can see if your local can match it if Tumbridge Wells is too far for you. My local matched it, I got my car this week... 15.7% discount...It was very cold so we (me and my wife) couldn't really go for it but it was a good indicator of how it drives.

Yes, the more you spec the car up, the less the percentage of the discount becomes. They don't seem to discount the optional extras...
Before my added extras the discount was 18%.
If you are buying on finance, you can play with the website speccer. Some of the options up the residual value, some don't, so they are cheaper to finance...
Interestingly, metallic paint has no impact on residual value, so I just went for white...

Hmmm; one of the ex demos is white, very high spec and a decent price...
Which GTechniq product? I have P1 which works well but is a shocker on black bonnets as it highlights any stone chips!
The grey wheels, rear valance and badge definitely go well with white.

I'm nearly there.
Going for:
Grey/red leather (we found black a bit gloomy)
Business nav (just can't justify a grand more for Pro and we aren't really techy but some sort of nav would be good)
Loudspeaker upgrade (mid range system)
Heated seats
Adaptive suspension
Comfort pack
And I think that's it.
Been offered a sort of acceptable price for our 335d too.
Local dealer is on the case too.
Build date early Jan - not ordered yet but very close,,,

What they offer on the 335 and what's the details?
About four pounds. If you search on AT for a BMW 335d SE Touring, it's the black one with 57.4k miles, FSH, MOT+ tax until July.
Very roughly, 56 reg, sapphire black, 160 style 17" alloys on non RFTs (currently on brand new Winters, I have four Conti SC3s ready to put back on), terra dakota leather, built in factory fit rear sun blinds, Hatchbag, Parrot i9200 pro fitted, pretty darn gleaming.
I'd take a grand under what it's on for but any less, it makes more sense p/xing.
