Driver comfort is cruise & rear parking sensors. Front parking was an extra £250 or so.

Mine doesnt drop speed, you sure you've got cruise & not just the speed limiter button? Also, assume you've turned it on with the bottom button first ...

Speed limiter:

Cruise:
It's definitely the second image.
It's one of those things I won't be able to test properly until I'm on the motorway.

Looks like the deals might be coming back?

I've just had an email from Silverstone Leasing - 5 door, Business Media, £280+vat
That one is for business only unfortunately, apparently BMW aren't looking at running it for personal lease. Hope you guys know how you lucky you are :P

How does the adaptive suspension compare to the standard? E.g. is the fixed setting somewhere in between sport and comfort on the adaptive?

I'm just wondering - mine is fixed and a comfort mode would be great for when I'm just cruising. Everything else is very refined in 'comfort' but the ride is slightly harsh still.

Standard is the sport end of sport/comfort on adaptive

We found it fine so went for standard.

My passively suspended car struggles on bumpy roads. I wish I had adaptive now.

You don't get a lot bumpier than Cornwall and ours is just right - for us.

We were looking for a fun car and managed to find probably the last of the good deals - test drove one so knew it drove well, and reviews were convincing but trying to spec it with minutes to go is a stressful experience. Gateway2lease excellent, and collected it from dick Lovett Bristol on thur with 5 miles on clock. Pleasant drive back through South Wales to Shropshire. Off to mid wales today: am running it in but the 1k miles will soon pass, and the odd excursion into higher rev ranges demonstrates its abilities :-)

5 door estoril blue. Would have spec'd full black display if I'd have know that was an option - it was on the demo car and I'd not realised BMW did 2 dash displays - but not unhappy with the standard one. Car is, in the words of my kids, epic. As was the deal. So thanks to all on here for making me vaguely aware of it in the first place.

I hadn't even heard of the full black display until I read about it on here (or on babybmw.net) and everyone was gushing about it, "if you only have one option it has to be this one" kind of thing.
For a few minutes I thought I'd missed out on something amazing, as though I'd somehow managed to spec the 135 with only the 116 engine - it seemed *that* important! - but then common sense kicked in.

So, the standard display says "BMW" rather than "M135i", big feckin' deal. Only the driver can see it anyway, so what's the point?

You get satnav directions, you can control the radio, phone and all sorts through the display and the mpg graphics are quite nice. It's not going to kill you not having it but I'm glad I went for it - probably less useful if you don't have nav.

You can control the radio and telephone via the standard dash screen. I don't have nav but I understand the instructions still come up on there with the business nav (the pro nav gets you the black panel as standard), albeit just as symbols / text rather than a nice image.

I'm sure that it's worth the £100 on a £30k+ car, but I don't feel like an idiot for not having it.

In that case, it just looks a bit prettier - I've not tried a non black panel M135i so wasn't sure what you do and don't get on the dash. I've got Business Nav.

For me it was £3 pm (or £120 retail?) to not look at a 3x1" screen and instead have a pretty screen to look at.

I won't post the comparison pics again, as they have been posted a few times now.

this is it - it is, in my view, prettier. It's more modern looking. When I knew I'd missed it off, I contacted the lease co and even rang the dealer to ask BMW to change it on the production line - as you can imagine, they couldn't help, and I was quite pissed off with myself. But the standard one is fine. But given a choice, I'd definitely have it.

I also deleted sun protection, but added driver comfort and nav. Cruise control is nice.

Just put a coat of EGP to protect the paintwork on it. I only tend to have the enthusiasm to do it once, and yes, I know it's a lease, but it's mine for the next 2 years..... :-)

Good man.
Mine got the full works (waxed, sealed paint, sealed wheels, protected carpets and leather, etc) too. A

what did you use for the wheels, and the leather? my enthusiasm extended to another car too, but it may just carry on enough to do the interior and rolling bits.....

Wheels; Planet Polish Wheel Seal and Shine (superb product)
Leather; AG leather conditioner; smells lovely.
Carpets; BMW Mini carpet protector.
I also seal the glass with Car Chem v2 sealant which is some sort of voodoo magic.
Oh and some GTechniq tyre stuff to make them look nice.

I feel slightly ashamed. Mine is filthy right now. McDonalds wrappers and empty drinks bottles scattered in the front, son's toys and snack crumbs in the back. Front carpets are a bit muddy already. Dash is dusty. It's slowly morphing into the family car!

Vlad has recommended some nice products there.

Pickup some Sonax products (Cleanyourcar sell them) and prepare to be amazed. Their brilliant shine detailer is essentially a top-up sealant with 6 weeks of protection and their Polymer Net Shield is another stunning sealant costing peanuts. There's no need to buy expensive products as you can get some of the best products at the lower end of the cost scale.

Grab some Autosmart Autowash or Duet Shampoo in 5L for less than £20, now these show how much of a rip off these small fancy 500ml bottles of shampoo really are wink

I am getting the car detailed in a few weeks time, I know it's a lease but I am treating it as my own. It means it will be in good condition if I either return it or buy it at the end of the period depending on the price.

I was thinking about this on the daily commute this morning. One month in and I'm nearing 1k miles so my 12k per year allowance should be fairly accurate I hope. However, I have found myself deciding to walk or leave the car at home on a couple of occasions due to slight concern that I'll end up wildly over my allowance at the end of the lease. To me, that is tantamount to sacrilege considering what fun it is to drive!

So... if I go over the mileage allowance but decide to purchase the car at the end of the lease, I presume I'd still need to pay the excess mileage to offset the lower sale price. Can anyone confirm?
