To be fair, everything else about the service was excellent. Met at the door, shown to a seat and offered coffee (which was like dishwater) while I waited.
Then when I went to collect the car got the same treatment. Including a bottle of water to take with me "as a souvenir".

Thats normal service from any BMW dealer i've been too.
Puts all my pervious experiance with Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover to shame

I sometimes do this when board on launches. Keeps me amused to think of the next journo wondering why the car is bonging when coming out of the pits.

I wonder if this is what all BMW dealers are like, or just Park Lane?
Aren't Park Lane owned by BMW as opposed to being a franchise?

I know someone who works for their service department which is actually on the Wandsworth road and they often deliver customer cars to and from the Park Lane show room. Lots of customers who don't want to take their car South of the river for a Service!

All,

For those that have recently had your cars delivered through a lease what documentation did you have to sign on delivery? I am thinking of taking photos of all the panels just to cover myself or this this over the top?

you sign a vehicle acceptance form which (for gateway2 lease) is a single page, just to say it is ok. I checked the car over, peered underneath, checked inside, and signed it. It was fine.

If you want to photograph it you can, but not sure I can see the point. Just take your time to sight down the sides of the car, etc.

Oh, and you have to pay for any extra options added at the time - I had to query my charges as they'd not quite got it right, and was almost overcharged - but even if I had been, am sure it would have been sorted out. Shout out to Dick Lovett, Bristol, excellent in the handover.

Thanks for that. In regards to the extra options my order with CVL incorporates the total cost of the options in the monthly fee. The initial payment includes 6 months rental plus a cash back charge which is given back to me after 7 days.

Mine has just arrived. The delivery driver was excellent and took me around the car to show me where everything was.

May have taken me a little while to realise how to engage the reverse gear hehe but got there in the end. Will take a bit of time getting used to the clutch pedal location as well.

Going to take it out later to get used to the drive.

Took mine out yesterday and didn't exactly stick to the 4500 rev limit haha.

Shocked at how short the gears must be, i had it in comfort and knocked it over to sport whilst doing about 32mph, it was in 6th gear!!

Kept it in manual mode for a good 20 minute drive. LOVE IT!

What was so special about a 2003 Mini Cooper S with a time of 1.21.7?

It cheated and took a shortcut.

How's yours Adam, still enjoying it. I can't wait to take mine out for a full on blast once she's run in a little more.

Yeah i love it pal been purposely driving in manual mode recently to get the engine out the habit of sticking to under 2500 revs. Can't be good in the long run surely?

Quick update, my CVL order was due end of this month, dropped them an email today to ask for an update and apparently it's already at the dealer (Knights Stoke!) and they'll be offering me a delivery slot tomorrow!

Anyone with CVL outstanding might be worth an email. Base spec 3 door manual, ordered at the start of Jan.

Just seen a topic about an M6 which had transmission warning messages come up on the main screen. Would something like that be covered under the warranty included in these lease deals regardless of what the fault was?

Bit of a strange question. Assuming you hadn't crashed the car, or dropped a spanner into the transmission (literally impossible), we're naturally covered against manufacturing faults.

Remember the M6 is a proper M car, so a bit more fragile wink The SMG boxes like to throw their toys, but they do deal with over 500bhp

I have always had used cars so not up to speed with what is classed as warranty and what is under wear and tear.

You'd be hard pressed to break the ZF through wear and tear in the first few years! The best part of owning a new car is you can drive them hard, and if anything goes pop BMW fix it smile

I'm sure there was a thread about someone who'd done a turbo after a year.

I ordered mine in Dec and have had an update today to reiterate the date I was told already (w/c 28th april) same spec as you. Wonder if mine is there already..
