Do we get any form of breakdown cover on these from BMW? My RAC membership has just come through and I only really need it for the OH and my brother now (who lives with us) so will probably change it to a Joint membership from Family as £238 for the year seems a lot when my car is brand new now.

All new cars come with a warranty that includes breakdown cover for the first three years of their life regardless if they are bought with case, on finance or leased.

Sounds good, where would I find the info? Who is the cover with?

Standard BMW cover.

Any problems call the number on the back of your keyring and a BMW man turns up and does the biz.

Mine in coming up to 12,000 and is predicting a service at 25,000 miles. It asked for 1l of oil last week though. Just drove the family from Aberdeen to leeds, 350 miles, full boot. Got 34mpg sat at 80 all day. My ol diesel Octavia would not have been massively better?!

Hi Guys,

Been a long time member, but never used the forums, I've never had a bimmer, but I'm keen on getting s 135, problem is the leasing offers I seem to be offered are hideous, 13 plate one in my local sytner sales guy I spoke to wanted 420 a month with 3K down over 3 years, which isn't great at all when they're offering 300pm on a brand new one for 3k down. I've seen the leasing sites people use, but I see some of the numbers you chaps are paying and am blown away, I'm new to leasing so any help is much appreciated.

Driving a Diesel Vogue at the moment, to say it's a little too relaxed is an understatement, doesn't live up to my S or R32 I had!

Cheers,

Rhys

It's just been a case of being in the right place at the right time: for us, we were looking for a sporty car, and test-drove the Fiesta ST as it was on a lease offer at about £220 ish a month - nice car, though front was a little jittery on standard roads. Decided that, give the rave reviews, we should see what the M135i's were like, so did a quick skim of leasing sites (helped by threads on here) - and picked up what was probably the last deal G2L had going. Meant I had to spec the car over the phone with 15 mins to go before the deadline, without really knowing what was key and what was not, and talking to a finance person not a car person (though very good). So that was a bit stressful, but it meant we got a very decent deal and the car is great.

The deals came about because BMW wanted to shift a lot of them and raised dealers targets by 80%, so I'm told, so they did some mass discount deals with finance companies which appeared through the leasing ones. There were only a limited number..... Some other sites aggregate leasing deals to show the current good offers, and it's not crazy to think that they may do something similar for the M235i in the not too distant future (6-12 months away) - but if you want something now, you're not likely to find anything like the deal. You could try broadspeed or drivethedeal to get a lower list price and then a finance company to fund it (they will put you in touch), or could try taking some of these figures to your friendly (!!) BMW dealer and see if they can do anything at all (especially nearer the end of a month when targets are in sight).

But as a general rule its a case of lucking out, raising your chances by hanging out here, and being flexible on the car you might want (for e.g. 12 months ago the best deal I could get on a Fiesta ST was over £300/mo and now it's £200. (Also note that Mercedes often heavily discount their cars for lease companies, and so are often very good value.)

Hey thanks for the reply mate. Yeah I've been looking and it seems I'm last invite to the part on this occasion, I mean Sytner are offering 3K dep on a 4 year brand new for 300 p/m, problem is seeing lease sites are offering the same on a 24 month contract I cannot make myself dive in to a 4 year deal with them. I know the facelift is due out next year first quarter, but I'm looking to get something now as I have a potential buyer for my Vogue, Anything anybody can throw at me I'll be super appreciative of!

Cheers

Smaller than the M135i, but loads of people on ClioSport have ordered:

Fiesta ST-2 (£180) from Gateway2Lease: http://www.gateway2lease.com/z_ford_fiesta_1.6ecob...

Or ST-3 here (£208): http://www.gateway2lease.com/z_ford_fiesta_1.6ecob...

and the ST is a good car, too - enjoyed driving it - worth a look as a relatively cheap option. Can also get a similar deal from Ford dealers, and may even be able to get them slightly lower if you push. (We were offered pretty much this, without any negotiation)
