So, a friend did a 300 mile round trip in zero traffic.
On the way there, eco plus and nursing it, cruise control on 73, 60kgs of luggage on board, 37.3mpg.
On the way back, having more fun, cruised at 84, 33.3mpg.
I calculate that at 1.29, that's £23.50 or £26.46 in fuel.
I'm not going to bother nursing it as much in hindsight
If I'm on a long run and going for mpg it's more to give me something to do rather than saving £3 - ahh the feeling of achievement when it goes over 40 On the way there, eco plus and nursing it, cruise control on 73, 60kgs of luggage on board, 37.3mpg.

I'm not convinced the ecomode does much for saving fuel. What is obvious though with the trip is how fuel consumption is sensitive to speed. On the way there, eco plus and nursing it, cruise control on 73, 60kgs of luggage on board, 37.3mpg.

I'm soooo tempted by one of these as I've just seen details of a new car scheme at work.
Watching the Chris Harris video of the 135i v RS3 hasn't helped either!
I can spec a brand new car for £270.00 per month with no deposit. Then after 18 months, they'll take it away and give me a brand new one. No additional charges unless I damage it. Servicing, tyres etc included and the mileage allowance is 10,000 a year.
That's a good deal, right?!

That's reassuring, thanks.
You're also not talking me out of it, which is good!
Grey with the coral/red leather looks good to these eyes. I'll probably go easy on the option list but the upgraded stereo option is tempting. How do the H&K, BMW Professional and the standard system stack up?
I should probably read this whole thread...

Grey with coral is what we have. Very pleased with it. Do spec auto and adaptive suspension too though. You're also not talking me out of it, which is good!
