Bumpety bump.
For those still interested I've had a nose about over the past week. There's still half decent deals to be done with dealers as there's still a £1700 BMW deposit contribution if you take the 4.9% PCP. Depending on where you go, you should be able to negotiate an extra chunk off the list price too.

Best for me is still the one I posted up the thread. But local dealer offered me:5 door, metallic, Pro media, HK, Driver comfort: £31,816.85
My car p/x: 6k
BMW contribution: £1700
8k miles a year
48 months
£291.75 a month
FP £14,087.16
Easy on the options would bring somewhere between 220-250 p/m I think

Try one on a long drive first if thats important. I bought my 130i off my best mate who now has an M135i, he says exactly what I felt in the one drive I had in his, that the M135 is noticably quicker and the suspension is way more compliant, but you feel a more detached from what's going on compared to the E87, you dont feel the speed and you dont feel it moving around or communicating as much in the corners. The new car unsurprisingly also has significantly more grip, he's rather fond of smearing rear rubber around any given roundabout but says its much harder/less intuitive to do in the M135 than the 130
I'd not seen your post until now. I did try my father-in-law's auto M135i quite some time ago now and although I drove it with DSC off, I didn't want to provoke any serious slides with him sat alongside me, I'm not that brave! I just got it to that point on a corner where you start to feel the tyres scrub slightly. My car arrives next week and I think if it doesn't behave how I want it to, I'll adjust tyre pressures first, then geo and perhaps even ARBs and LSD eventually if I'm still not happy. I'll have to see how it goes. As for refinement, I'm terrible for finding reasons to take sound deadening out of my cars to make them a bit more noisy and also to lose ridiculously small amounts of weight, so I might be tempted to go down that route if it's easy enough.Currently, my 120D is a handful as the rear tyres are getting close to the limiters and in this wet weather it feels like I'm trying to deploy 600hp rather than 160 odd. At the moment I'm relishing the idea of rather more grip.

Thats only a 5% discount? I was offered 20% last December, so perhaps wait a couple of months till year end ...5 door, metallic, Pro media, HK, Driver comfort: £31,816.85

Yup, but like I say the one I posted earlier is much better, figures out at about 17% I think. Decided not to buy for at least 6 months which will either pay off or cost me big time..Sir_Dave said:

Recent quote I got:3dr
Auto
Met paint
Driver comfort pack PDC F&R + Cruise
Sun protection
Pro Nav
List price £35725 less £5858 discount
Deposit £2000 then either 35 x £422.41 plus GFV of £16269
Or 47 x £382.45 and GFV of £13929
Or Deposit of £3500 then either 35 x £376.40 and GFV of £16269
Or 47 x £347.39 and GFV of £13929.
APR 4.9%
With 6k in , I reckon the monthlies are down to around £240/m
So decent discounts are still there even if the lease deals have gone.

Impressive.
My M235i has only managed a lifetime MPG of 28.4 in the 2 months/4,000 miles I've had it.
I couldn't stomach another as constantly filling up is a bit depressing so I wussed out and ordered the replacement car last week and went for a 430d.
Appreciate that you appear to be doing 2k/month or 24k/year, but what's it costing to swap into a 430d? Nice machine though it may be.My M235i has only managed a lifetime MPG of 28.4 in the 2 months/4,000 miles I've had it.

Surely the man-maths that got you into an M235i can't also be justifying the fuel saving (over that mileage) vs the cost to change..?
