I'd say my tyres are half worn, at 10k miles so it doesn't seem I've been trying hard enough. I reset the MPG every so often and it says 26.4 usually and 27.1 if I've been going slow(er).

Thanks for the replies on tyres smile

I normally average around 30. 10 mile run back from the golf club tonight - mix of town + bit of dual - got 39.7 without even trying, just normal driving. Great economy considering what performance is available...

34k miles in and I've still got tread although the shoulders on the fronts have gone.

Wowsers! That's good going. Variable compound on the tyres seems to result in all of us suffering wear on the outside of the fronts.

Saw a PHer today on the M54 in their M135i. Very nice it looked.

Can't be driving mine anywhere near hard enough, approaching 9k miles, hardly any tyre wear and averaging 29mpg mixed driving.

29mpg and no tyre wear? You definitely need to try harder wink

I think that was me, on my way to Cannock Chase!

Talking about tyres, I discovered one of my rears has a screw in it. Probably repairable, but they look a little low on tread anyway, after less than 10k.....

Anyway, what are other people using other than PSS or should I just be going for the same again?

Stick to PSS. Not that much more expensive than inferior tyres.

We have a lot in common btw, expecting my M135i LCI in 5 weeks and avid MTBer. How well does the bike fit at the back ?

Takes my road bikes well with just the front wheel removed. I have my saddle quite high but don't have to drop it to fit it in the boot.

With the seats down and the front wheel off it fits in nicely, although I try to use the roof mounted rack on our A3 as often as I can.

Cheers. Brilliant. Can't wait.

I originally posted this in the BMW general forum but probably best placed here......

I'm looking at the 1 series for my wife, the 120d x drive m sport isn't far off the list price of the M135I so I thought I would look into deals on these also.

Current deal on the table is

£400 deposit
£374 x 47
GFV £13,800

5 door manual metallic paint and service pack

thoughts ?

Might be worth asking over on BabyBMW.net as they like a discussion on deal prices and can often point you in the direction of tame sales managers offering deals...

Re the bike in the boot question. When driving out to my favourite off-road riding areas, I put my wife's mountain bike, my mountain bike and my son's child seat all in the back (with the rear seats folded flat). I do have to remove both bike's wheels though.

My wife and son then drive to our preferred off-road riding spot in her car, whilst I go separately with the bikes. It's 50/50 as to whether this is better than the alternative of spending £400 on roof bars and a rack.

Thought I'd bump this thread as I had my first true 'lol' moment in the M135i last night.

Long story short, an RS5 had been gunning for a race from a few set of traffic lights in London last night, possibly showing off to a girl in the passenger seat. We finally got stopped in a NSL area next to each other, so I thought I'd see if I could actually launch mine properly (manual).

I somehow fluked a perfect launch, flat changed into second and our wing mirrors were pretty much perfectly level until I lifted at the top of second gear as we'd hit the speed limit. I've no delusions if we'd continued to push he would have started pulling a gap, but his sheepish impression did make me laugh at the next set of lights. He probably should have used launch control (if they have it)

They are proper fast, and I have never used launch control.

Just got back from 1400 miles in three days to Frankfurt. Hit 160mpg on the autobahn a few times, it did 31mpg over whole trip. Loving sport mode more and more.

Was out in the CSL a couple of weeks ago, a M135i was following. Cue some respectful fun. He was glued to the bumper.

Only annoying thing is the audio interface. Can't reliably plan music from iPhone through it with business nav.

Goes back next March. Will miss it in some ways and not others. I am hoping despite a few mental road trips and track days I won't need to change the tyres.

Only had mine for 10 days and 400 running in miles. It's such a great package. It does so many jobs so well (albeit none perfectly, obviously) it's quite uncanny. Can't wait for its first track day and Spa + Ring in October. Better stock up on from Supersports as it will no doubt chew them, unless I can extract a deg or two of front camber...
