So i've been thinking about this more and more and how can leasing be better then buying one? If you look on the used BMW site there are cars like this http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/1-Series/3.0-M135i/Harro...

which is 2 years old with probably standard spec on it and it's still £21k which if you bought a new one, got a discount and added a few extras you could probably get it for 27k new so over two years it would only loose 6-7k.

Am i being completely stupid at half 8 in the morning with only one cup of tea drunk or am i right?
You're not stupid - it's one of those cars better bought cash (if bought well!!). Peeps have been returning £175/£200 a month depreciation over 12 months and just flip them.

It also sounds ridiculous with the 2 pipe mod hehe
I think I would have been tempted by the 4 pipe mod because they are very muted in standard guise, but from what I have read the 2 pipe mod is the one to go for and the 4 pipe mod is over the top...but it is a V8 after all though! smokin

Yeah 2 pipe is ok as its still silent on a cruise, the 4 pipe can get quite boomy apparently, good for just razzing about like a badmanz i guess, but not so brilliant on a cold start in a built up area, mines bad enough as it is haha!!

Went home to Cornwall over the weekend and the e90 covered ground incredibly well, certainly quicker than the e46 in most situations and plenty of room for 4 people and their luggage. Certainly the best overall car ive owned, & ive had a few. Averaged 24mpg, compared to 27 in the e46 and 31 in the M135i, the small tank is a slight irritation but ill get used to it, i can just about get home from Weybridge to Penzance on a tankful.

Nice looking car - brings back memories of my much missed E90, which was a black manual with red interior and of a similar vintage to yours.

This is the only car I actually want, they are well below 20k as well now it seems. Will have to have a think in a few months.

I love mine (e92), however you'll be hard pressed to find a good one well below 20k.

I viewed 7 cars in total I think, and they were mostly dogs. Snapped mine up as soon as I viewed it, even though it was a little higher mileage than others I'd viewed, it was very well cared for.

You have to be lucky/buy off the forums i think, i bought both my e46 and e90 off M3cutters.

This is a '58 with 61k & a full BMWsh, recent actuators, 4 x Super Sports & genuine discs/pads all round, great condition bodywork and i paid just over £18k. Most of the ones from dealers at that point are sheds/cat d, so id say if you want the "security" of buying from a trader, you'd need to spend £20k+ easily. Good ones go fast, i did a deal on this one via pm on the forum and put a deposit down unseen.

No sign of my old car anywhere at the moment. Maybe the BCA driver took it to the 'ring!

I found it on BCA and went through 2 weeks ago. Knew it must be somewhere, so checked eBay, pistonheads, AUC then finally Car Giant and there it is

They want £21995. Offered it to me for £20400. They may have put new tyres on it

Used basic spec M135i don't seem to be selling so I think there'll be some real bargains out there soon.
Mine was offered to me at 21900 before I sent it back (16k mile 3dr AW manual, heated seats & adv speakers).
It's been sat at a local car dealers for two months now and the price has been down to 19800 for the past few weeks. I'm quite tempted! If only I'd have specced it for the long term...

Used values are strange. 2012 examples are 18K plus when you can get a 2014/2015 example for not much more.

Dropped mine off for the first service at http://bmwspecialistreading.co.uk this morning. Seemed quite reasonable at £150.

Never used them but they do have a good reputation. I drive past there on my way to work!

It's the first thing I've used them for too. But several colleagues have been complimentary. One of those places where you get a feeling they potentially know BMWs better than the dealerships do.

Same, mine has just turned up on BCA and I'm all sad she's gone as she looks in fine condition.

Will see what she goes from in a week or two.
