So, a friend did a 300 mile round trip in zero traffic.

On the way there, eco plus and nursing it, cruise control on 73, 60kgs of luggage on board, 37.3mpg.

On the way back, having more fun, cruised at 84, 33.3mpg.

I calculate that at 1.29, that's £23.50 or £26.46 in fuel.

I'm not going to bother nursing it as much in hindsight hehe
If I'm on a long run and going for mpg it's more to give me something to do rather than saving £3 - ahh the feeling of achievement when it goes over 40 biggrin

Ps - yes I know getmecoat

I'm not convinced the ecomode does much for saving fuel. What is obvious though with the trip is how fuel consumption is sensitive to speed.

I'm the same, MPG runs can actually be quite fun, but also extremely frustrating!

Did a lengthy run in mine last week. It's surprisingly difficult to average 70mph for 11 hours or so. Just over 10,000 miles in mine so far. Overall average is 34mpg.

Mines now just run in - well 1600 miles or so. I did a few runs when running in properly of 40mpg quite easily. Now averaging 31, though have seen lowish 20s for one reason or another.

Bloody brilliant cars.

Very much so.

I can get 37 if I stick to 70.

80 or more drops it to low 30's

I never thought I'd admit it but this is very true.

There are many ways to make driving somewhere a bit more interesting...

If I ever see an M135i slipstreaming behind a lorry on the outside lane of a motorway, I now know where the owner likely hangs out winklaugh

laugh

Was just thinking the same. Was behind an equally steady(on the stop start commute only mind) M235i driver yesterday on the way home.

I'm soooo tempted by one of these as I've just seen details of a new car scheme at work.

Watching the Chris Harris video of the 135i v RS3 hasn't helped either! smile

I can spec a brand new car for £270.00 per month with no deposit. Then after 18 months, they'll take it away and give me a brand new one. No additional charges unless I damage it. Servicing, tyres etc included and the mileage allowance is 10,000 a year.

That's a good deal, right?!

That's reassuring, thanks.

You're also not talking me out of it, which is good!

Grey with the coral/red leather looks good to these eyes. I'll probably go easy on the option list but the upgraded stereo option is tempting. How do the H&K, BMW Professional and the standard system stack up?

I should probably read this whole thread...

Grey / coral is a good combo, lifts some of the doom of a black cabin smile

Standard audio is OK, but needs to be turned up to get much out of it; not very good if you've anybody else in the car who doesn't share you like of loud music.

Grey with coral is what we have. Very pleased with it. Do spec auto and adaptive suspension too though.

Close but you're not right.

As it's a scheme through work, I'm not sure if I want to say. But as you've got so close, I guess you probably know anyway!

Good stuff! I'd like to have a test drive to compare both manual and auto before committing really. Did you chose any other options?

Ok, that deal is ridiculous.
