Great OBD Port Disabled Stickers
Discussion
Hey Chaps,
Was poking my nose into the long running thread about BMW's being stolen minus keys over on the general BMW forum.
Came across a really top guy who'd made up some stickers to let thieving gits know not to bother with his car as the port had been disabled. He kindly had some spares he was posting out so my E61 M5 Touring now proudly displays them.. Don't know if he's making more!
Cheers,
Bigglez

I fear it may not be a strong enough deterrent.
I have just come across this video (in the link)

...that shows how easy it is to steal someone's BMW. Very scary. I really hope BMW pull their finger out and come up with a resolution ASAP.

Hi Schermerhorn,
If you back in the threads (especially on the main BMW forum, you'll see that BMW issued a fix for the hack late last year.
However thieves won't know that yours is fixed. This is a way of telling them.
Plus I've (like a lot of others on here) done a bit more than just rely on the BMW fix...

Bigglez, it is good that people are taking real initiative in protecting their pride and joy outside of BMW's own measures.
I am going to upgrade to an E92 coupe late this year and will be going for a 'fully loaded' version. Is the Viper v3303 alarm suffecient enough to prevent all these OBD hack/clone thefts?

I have similar stickers in my E90 window, also had the security fix applied.
Didn't stop some scum bags from breaking the locks out of mine while it sat on my drive. The cars with the fix no longer drop the window when the key turns, so once they realised they weren't going to get it they left it alone. Replacement locks were £225 from BMW.
I decided that as most thieves probably can't even read that I'd have a better alarm system fitted, so now have a Viper with proximity sensor, haven't had any trouble since (touch wood). Anybody coming close to my car sees the flashing blue light in the window, anybody getting too close is warned off by indicators flashing and the car chirps at them.

Hi all, I'm a newbie to the forums so go easy.
Anyone direct me to some good "Port Disabled" stickers that people have bought and are happy with (quality and price). Must be visible at night when the scum thieves operate right. I've removed the port but just want to let everyone know my car is not going be an easy one to take.
Seen some on Ebay UK but was wondering what people on this thread are suggesting.
Thanks everyone

I picked up some stickers from this seller on fleabay as they are discreet yet visible day and night.
