Bmw 1M prices holding strong!
Discussion
They don't come with lower miles than this! A mere 8 miles... £48k. http://www.approved.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/details...

The dealer won't like letting it out for a test drive. You could easily double the mileage.Mermaid said:

PHs is really going downhill these days.
Prices still seem to be holding pretty strong.
There's plenty of talk about CSL prices rising but they have still a long way to go before they reach their original retail price where as the 1M has barely deviated 10% from their original price from 3 years ago.
Is that the sign of a better car or a different market/time? I remember CSL's available with big discounts at dealers back in 2003, dealers were struggling to move them.

I loved my 1M for the two years I owned it and it even made me smile the day it sold as it was for £5k more than I paid for it!
Purchased at 6 months old and 5,300 miles for £37,500, driven every day for two years and sold with 14,000 miles to a BMW main agent in July for £42,500!
Great fun and proved to be a great investment too! Will it see £50k plus......only time will tell
Now loving its replacement - 997 GTS Carrera 2 PDK

Apologies for a thread resurrection, but...
I'm feeling mighty tempted to get a 1M. Prices seem to be in the £36-44k bracket, depending on miles etc. They still look ace and I keep watching the old Evo, Autocar and Top Gear reviews with a growing longing to own one.
What's the current thinking on how solid values are going to be over the next couple of years? A big plunge when the M2 lands or will the 1M continue to hold firm?
And there seem to be a few around in the AUC network. Do they seem to be hanging around or is there an active market?
I know it's all crystal-ball-gazing stuff, but I'd like to be able to run one for a couple of years without losing a shed-load of cash. Do-able?!

I doubt the 2M will knock the 1M's value , to me the 1M was/is a special and limited not a general run production car as the 2M will probably turn out to be I am pretty confident that the 1M prices will go one way and thats up, it is up there with the CSL without a doubt.
The E46 CSL prices are going sky high, given time the 1M will be the same,BMW have no plans to do another limited run car like the 1M as its just not cost effective for them, the 1M was the flagship to show what could be done.
Speaking to a few classic/Sports car investors lately the likes of the E46 CSL and 1M is two cars mentioned to buy and keep a hold of.
I would bet that the CSL itself with low miles will be £80K+ in 5 years (look at the E30 M3 evo's)
A 1M with sub 30k mile car is still holding very very strong at £40k at 3 years old.

Almost true — BMW group design director said there's something special coming next year, either a M2 CSL or M4 CSL:The E46 CSL prices are going sky high, given time the 1M will be the same,BMW have no plans to do another limited run car like the 1M as its just not cost effective for them, the 1M was the flagship to show what could be done.

Fans’ favorite E30 M3 could serve as an inspiration for a variant of the upcoming BMW M2. According to BMW Group design director Adrian van Hooydonk. “The E30 M3 has a really big fan base, and we are going to be taking cues from it for a future product,” he said.
For Autocar, Hooydonk wouldn’t elaborate on which model might get the E30 M3 treatment, but the one model that fits the profile is the new M2 which will be released in November of this year.
The M2 is expected to produce around 370 hp from a new 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that is unrelated to the powertrains fitted to the bigger M3 and M4 models. The E30-inspired M2, maybe labeled M2 CSL, could feature design cues like distinctive wheelarches creasing and a wing, while all the aerodynamic parts will be fixed. “With M cars, we try to get the downforce right without moveable aero. It’s the most authentic way,” said Hooydonk.
Weight saving play an import role in BMW’s future product strategy and M cars already feature carbon fiber and composite plastics. Hooydonk added “I’d have to give Colin Chapman the credit for the ‘performance through light weight’ mantra, but that was another big factor for the E30, and that is also a priority for us.”
A lightweight M2 should come in at closer to 1400 kg.
The expectations are that the special M2 would arrive next year to celebrate the company’s 100th birthday.
