And as if to prove my point...nothing but a load of pompous, pretentious, macho posturing, my M is more M than you're M so it shouldn't be allowed in this section crap!!
IT'S NOT AN 'M'does anyone know how to make capitals bigger?

So what makes a 100% M car then?
This helps clarify, words of Christof Lischka m135i project mangerHow exactly did the engineers of BMW M and BMW AG collaborate on developing the BMW M135i?
"It was important that the M characteristics typical of the BMW M Performance Automobiles were added by our BMW M GmbH colleagues. So we set up a kind of buddy system involving close collaboration between BMW M and BMW AG staff. In particular, BMW M engineers masterminded the differentiating features such as driving dynamics, drive and defining characteristics. The results were continuously refined in numerous common test drives and meetings - the collaboration was very intensive. Project management in this case was in the hands of BMW AG but also reported to BMW M GmbH - so there was a counterbalance here, too. This meant that it was possible to develop and present the BMW M Performance Automobile alongside the start of the basic BMW 1 Series 3-door model.
A typical M automobile has about 80% changed or completely newly developed parts as compared to its equivalent basic model. Where does a BMW M Performance Automobile such as the BMW M135i stand here?
With the BMW M135i we are at around 30%."
Theoretically it's not even intended to be half "M", if parts are your measure of "M"ness then it's a sprinkle of M dust, but it goes a long way making it feel "M"fun.

So by the argument above, unless someone on here has an original M1, everyone should revert to the BMW General section because nobody owns a 100% M car.
Yes it sounds like we need to find the M Overlord- the chosen one with the M-est car of all. Only He may decide where threads are beholden.fk that I don't want them in here now anyway if it's that much of an issue for some. What about an M-Performance sub-forum? Then those few can get their toys back off the floor and continue in their master-race filled world of fun.

^^^ Not having a pop here, but how do you come to the conclusion that it's more fun than most //M-cars? Which cars specifically did you find it more fun than, and in what respect?
Have you driven an M135i??? But hence the question to Vladimir. I'm very interested to know which //M-cars he's driven to be able to say that his new car is more fun than most of them. His driving history must be extensive to make such a claim!
Another threatened CSL owner. I bet an M135i would give a CSL a bloody nose around almost any track. That's why the desperate, pompous BS is so common.
Run of the mill, little hatch as fast as/faster than uber focused, ultra hardcore man machine shocker...
I don't care if it's an M an N, O, P, Q or whatever but the pompous, derisory comments are very revealing.
Carry on chaps, it's amusing to watch.

If you rear it properly, you will see it says quicker than most, not more fun that most.
Driven a E36 M3 Evo, E46 M3 and Z3MC. And been driven in an old E28 M5 and and E34 M3.
Quicker yes, more fun? Not in a gazzilion years. I've had the e46 and Z3MR, driven e36 on many occasions.Driven a E36 M3 Evo, E46 M3 and Z3MC. And been driven in an old E28 M5 and and E34 M3.
To be perfectly honest, im only getting an M135i as its cheap. Its no where near as good to drive as my GP. The steering is just woeful, the throttle response (for heel & toe) is poor because of the turbo and the one i drove (active suspension) rolled around like a barge in a storm. Ill just mention the slow speed steering again, its horrific. Worse than my girlfriends TT in terms of feel.
If i could run an e46 M3 for less than £300 a month all in, i would have one again any day of the week!!!
Is the M135i an ///M car? No. But then BMW dont market it as such, it is the 'ST' to the 'RS' in the Ford line up and the 'S' to the 'RS' with Audi. Should it be in this forum? Yeah, probably, its had input from M division, but i would fully expect everyone else to look down at me
For me, the M135i is simply a good replacement for my many e46 330's, a good daily, with a decent turn of speed.
