Read about this on M5 post. Apparently improves the sound by keeping the exhaust valves open. Cheap mod at approx £100 I believe. Anyone had this done and can provide some feedback?

Thanks
Pete

I wired my Valves Open Peter, the car sounds great (M5 LCI).
Easy job with Aluminium 3mm Wire.

I think for the money its a nice little mod, I currently have an Eisenmann Race fitted to my M5 which makes a great sound, trouble is its full on the whole time and early starts can be quite unsocial....

For me, even with the valves wired open the stock system is too quiet so I am thinking about selling the Race system and putting an Eisenmann Sport on mine and using the ExhaustMeister to control the valves.

Sounds like a good idea Paul, but think of the costs, the Sport is quieter for sure.
Will you be keeping the M5 for a few years?.

Had the car now for 12 months, no plans to change at the moment.

A few mods is far cheaper that changing cars, who can always recover some of the money when you sell the mods......

Old post but just ordered this, I had my CP exhaust wired open and loved it but felt guilty making a racket early every morning.

Should hopefully be the best of both worlds.

Got mine done on the m6 gc, very easy to install once you get the carpet off. Definite improvement especially audible on cold starts.

Mine arrived yesterday coincidentally but haven't got round to fitting it yet.

Glad you're pleased with it.
