Good work. I've just ordered some Lowtec 25mm springs which come highly recommended from the M5 Board.

I'll get them fitted at the same as the oil and brake fluid change before the track day on the 1st April in Loheac.

Can't wait.

New Eibach springs are fitted - took around 6 hours.

Fronts are much easier, about an hour a side, the rears are much more tricky. I ended up removing the disk and caliber to give a little more room.

From the initial drive around the block, it seems a little stiffer, but not in a bad way, and the gab between the tyre and wheel arch looks so much better.

Thanks to the strong pound / euro they were only £133 delivered

Pictures to follow tomorrow.

Looking SWEET.

The clutch has gone on mine. Cant move it 100 yards without an irritating bong doing my head in.

Oh dear, not good news mate. Will it be covered under warranty? Did you get any juddering when pulling away before it went?

No chance under warranty. I have the parts though so not an issue.

My clutch was going but was always 100% driveable. Then the other night it went mental after a long journey. Reduced power etc so I limped home and parked up. Will call garage tomorrow and have it sorted out.

In the past it used to affect me but I have a 600bhp Supra to get my fix biggrin

I'm pondering spacers, but not sure if the expense if worth it. Anyone else run spacers ?

That sucks about your clutch, but atleast when its done it should be good for a while.

So what were the symptoms that it was on it's way out? Slipping?

I run 15mm spacers all round and it's pretty much perfect. Just make sure you get hub centric spacers.

Yellow warning cog on idrive saying "transmission error"

Same warning under acceleration (depending on the slipping point)

Reduced power - drive moderately

DSC failure tied into the clutch slipping.

All designed to protect the engine from over revving.

Imagine this but worse and constant.

Nat, upgrade your angel eye side lights to the ice white LED ones.

I did it on mine. Very cheap and very very easy to do also.

You've omitted "Please contact BMW service" (for open wallet surgery)

Wow, that's some serious slippage. Luckily (touching a large piece of wood) I only get a very slight judder when pulling away occasionally, mainly after a long drive.

Gutted for you.

Read the code today and it was 510C which indicates clutch position sensor.

Fortunately all the parts I have at hand so no issue there. Got it booked in for next week using OE parts so no warranty issue either.

I have a 600bhp Supra to ease my woes in the meantime though biggrin

Slight update. Had a slight knocking noise on the front NSF wheel, so ended up taking the new springs out to check out my install.

Seems the Eibach springs fit the collar of the shock different to OEM, so if you do your own install, look for the line on the spring to match the line on the shock.

Got the removal / install down to 30 mins a side.

Gah, hearing that bong noise triggers something in my head. I appear to be permanently scarred by my experiences with the first E60 I had.

It's the worst noise ever. I instantly assume my life savings will be taken from me.

The "it's below 3c" gets me every time.

New issue & fix this weekend. ABS - Driving Stability error. Brake and drive control systems failure.

After a little google-fu, looked like a common issue, so dismantled the steering column, and cleaned the steering position sensor disk, which looks to have corrected the issue. Fingers crossed.

On a side note, decided to removed the lacquer from the polished face on the wheels, and machine polish it to a mirror finish. Looks a lot better.

Pics to follow.
