WOW..Z3 M Coupe's now selling for £40,OOO +.....!
Discussion
£55,000.... Dakar yellow done 22K.... www.parkwayspecilistcars.co.uk
A bit like air cooled Porsche- the price rise in both Z3MC and M3CSL in last two years has been amazing.
I love the looks of the Z3M coupe but when I test drove one I found the clutch pedal a bit cramped for me against
the left hand side of footwell......I got a 1M coupe instead which I love driving- but have to admit the Z3MC looks
the business.....

Speculators are morons.
But with 0.25% base rates and £ devaluing property a little questionable and very high entry options then why not buy a classic car have some fun and choose the right car could mean prices go up. As such FUN and likely all up running costs and depreciation/appreciation is nothing or if it does go up a quality problem.

Is this all because the later M cars are four cyclinder turbo and that's not suiting the purists of the subject ?
With that (quite valid) logic, E92 M3s with their big V8s are worth keeping an eye on in future years. Except there's no chance their values will firm up. It's simply supply vs demand. There are thousands of E92 M3s to chose from. Only a handful of Z3Ms in circulation. The amount of supply vs the amount of demand is what dictates the price. AOK said:

Am I on my own thinking £40K is not an unreasonable price for one of these?
If they sell at that money I guess the price is reasonable! Slightly off topic but all sorts of relatively mundane "classics" seem to be getting advertised for what I would consider strong (silly?) money at the moment. For example, a reputable independent specialist just down the road from me has a 1978 Mk2 Escort RS2000 with 86k miles on the clock advertised at £25k and frankly those things weren't terribly good when they were brand new in the 1970's! They've also got a Mk3 Escort RS Turbo advertised at £30k which also seems slightly daft - I had one of those back in the 1980's and for £30k I'd take a brand new M140i every time thanks very much! However, a mint Mk3 RS Turbo apparently sold for more like £60k at a Classic Auction recently so in that context perhaps this one at £30k is a bargain? Each to their own but sometimes it's a strange old world.....

I looked at a Z3 M in 2012 that was for sale at £8k, but it was a complete dog, so declined to buy. There were several I asked about, but all seemed to have been crashed or not quite right, or were stupid money.
I also have an Italian car from the 1970's, and people keep saying how valuable it is...but it is for sale and I'm finding that people with those opinions don't want to 'invest'. Is it the 'EU' thing? Or is it the 'price is too high' thing?
I think it is purely supply and demand... iirc they were only 821 RHD ZMC produced of which i belive only 618 are curranty uk registerd, presumably the latter wrote off as they are well known for ther oversteer....!!! One of the most fun cars I've driven hence why id won't be selling mine...
