Reset the gearbox for auto maybe?

Drive at 60+, feet off the pedals and pull both paddles towards you for a few seconds, I'm sure you get a bing bong or something to say it's been done.

Put it in neutral first!!

...and no bing, or indeed even a bong, to let you know it's done. It might shift more smoothly though (in both modes).
