Having seen your Evo 1 I would be inclined to hang on to it. Having one that's worth £45k+ and keeping it is a whole lot easier than buying one at that price, if that makes sense? Give me a shout when you come down and I'll try and pop over to say hello and see what you think? I'm writing a piece for one of the magazines and it would be good to include your car if you're up for it?
Will do Mark, have the parts for yours arrived yet....?

Thats pretty bizzare. I guess its either a colour change or a typo either by the seller or BMW? The paint looked highly original to me. The light in the Display area is unforgiving and this car had no paint imperfections and had that old world pre water based painted look that we all so miss...Anyway- I not a buyer for a 90k euro M3. I would much rather spend a little more and buy a Ferrari 458 (yes they are now this close in price!)

The car is advertised as a Cecotto.

The point being made is that the car advertised is Nogaro Silver, but the VIN says it left the factory Macaoblau Metallic.

Looked at the Movendi website just now. Says this is 1 of 2 cars built in this colour. Perhaps it wasn't on the system?

the 1 of 2 is rubbish. I have a nogaro silver cecotto and ok it is a rear colour chassis numbers AE40560 to AE40565 are Cecottos and BMW GB's Ravaglia is AE40678, so there a another batch in nogaro just haven't got around to checking all the numbers.

Hey Kirby,

Do you know what the colour split was for the Evo 2 cars?

evo sport splits on s14 power

red 203
black 395
sterling silver 1
alpine white 1

I have not checked these as it takes days on the vin decoder, so I am only relaying the post on s14 power.

Wow, have you basically gone through all of the chassis numbers to work the Cecotto/Ravaglia cars out?

Hats off to you and a virtual beer!beer

I've put my car details in to the vin decoders and found out something interesting to me.

My Euro import car is fairly normal with some options and the 158KW-215ps engine, but my UK ordered/delivered car is loaded with options.

Also, it came off the production line approximately 250 cars after the EVOIIs, but it is listed as having the 162KW-220ps engine whistle

Sim16v, yes sad I looked up every chassis number,
I have found that unless you get the full printed version of the vin recorder the on line one can miss options that were on the orginal order sheet.
I am not that computer savvy to do a spread sheet but have lots of pages of a4 now.

Guess it depends on the price you were offered it for? Bottom line is these cars are a quarter of a century old at least, so it's not surprising that some will have rust issues. Mine looked pretty solid when I bought it but still needs a fair chunk spent on letting in new metal and paint. Fortunately values mean it's money well spent. smile
