E30 will always be original but the trouble for me is they're just too slow. It takes the fun out of it if you get out of your daily 730d, mercedes e250 cdi or Audi A5 3.0tdi and they feel quicker than your fun, weekend car.
Complete opposite for me. Nothing makes the E30 feel more special than driving it after some dull, heavy, bland modern car.
This. In fact, I currently have a year old M3 convertible on the drive but I'd much rather have my E30. The new car is hugely capable and sounds great, but is nowhere near as much fun for me. It's also a bit bland looking to be honest.

Absolutely, to discount one of its lack of straight line speed is to miss out, they have so much more depth than that, and frankly in today's increasingly congested roads they make more and more sense. Ok there are a few occasions when I have wished I had a few more horses but there have been a lot more where I have been out in my CSL and wished it was more like my E30 wink

I must admit that, for me, the aesthetic and nostalgia played a big part in my lusting after an E30 M3. I was at Brands one weekday afternoon as a 20 something year old and Vic Lee Motorsport were testing with a brace of M3. I was smitten! It was the most aggressive looking and sounding touring car I'd seen and I hankered for one from then on. When I finally had the means to buy my own though, I was on the M25 heading home and wondering what the hell I had bought?! Sure it looked ok, but it was pretty gutless and certainly wasn't living up to my expectations. I couldn't tell my Mrs that though! We were heading off to Cornwall in it the next day anyway, so I just had to put up with it. As it turned out though, it wasn't the car that was the problem! It was my driving! Crossing Bodmin moor I had the confidence to really push on and it just transformed the way the car felt. Everything about the way it drove just felt so intuitive and the harder I pushed on, the better it felt. I'd had modified E30 before but they just didn't equate to the M3 and just how in control I felt on the limit. It really flatters the driver and is just a terrific car. It's almost a shame they are so valuable now and that more people won't experience them for that reason.
I fully agree with that Mark...I've had mine for about 10yrs now and I paid £4k for it then. It has had a full engine rebuild and a small upgrade due to a run big end at Brands...cost of that was over £3.5k with me doing most of the work! Another few quid on suspension and brakes and it has probably cost around £8.5-9k.
I still use mine on trackdays as it is pretty much the only time when it feels like it should do...On the road, unless you know of or happen to find a quite b-road, then it is a bit gutless and ordinary. Wring it's neck and it will reward you well...

£100k really.... At this level you'd never drive it as intended so museum piece only.

It's in the USA, it's in $ not £'s and Evo models, did not make it to the USA, but as they're now 25+ years old can be 'federalised' and used, so not necessarily a true reflection of the market.

Ok but still as values keep increasing no one will use them for track days or even road use as they will be so valuable. This is sadly the worst thing about clAssic cars in that speculation or whatever drives up the price them no one sees them again apart from static art.

Cars are for driving and enjoying as they were designed - hence the beauty of Le Mans Classic not mothballed in £6k cacoons.

£15k and rising.

Looks like a decent enough example but will need a freshening up.

From Florida to 'sunny' Hastings it's possible it could be a bit crusty underneath, not lead a life in the most driest of places ! The yanks did love that tan leather BITD !!

Wrong gearbox, wrong diff, position markers on the bumpers, all adds up to a big nono imo....... and why do people not even bother running a vacuum cleaner over the carpets before taking pictures for an advert.

My guess is it'll still make £16.5 -17k despite the differences compared to a European spec' car. I know of a shell that sold for £9k a few weeks ago, that had no boot, doors or headliner.

That tan interior needs dyeing black! Lol

It's probably at it's money now. It's interesting that the seller has paid all duty but hasn't registered it with DVLA, which would entail a MOT and sending off the paperwork..

Seems daft not to have registered and risk putting potential bidders off.
