Good example of how silly prices are right now
I think it's probably due to an ebay oxygen thief ruining someones listing. Had it before and I'm sure will happen again. The seller looks new with only 3 feedback and probably doesn't know how to cancel the bid maybe??
I think you're right. eBay listings seem to attract life detritus. I advertised a nice, straight E30 M3 a few years ago. It was also a Cat D due to 'uneconomical repair'. A box trailer had reversed and sliced open a rear quarter. As a result it sat unloved, till someone sent it to their local main dealer for repairs. It also had a new scuttle fitted and a full, quality respray. I had all this backed up by invoices and a photographic record of every repair. The whole history of the car could be traced and checked from day one. All I got though, were emails telling me ''it's a ringer'', or offering ''5 grand for cash today, to take it off ya hands bruv''. In fact, the chap who said it was a 'ringer' and 'worthless' emailed me via Pistonheads.

In the end, a German trader flew across, bought it and drove home. He rang me when he'd got back and thanked me for selling him such a great example! He still has it today and it's obviously worth way more than the £10k he paid for it.

So they sold the original engine, that could have been sorted for about £1200, then spent £4500 on a replacement? I'm surprised they went to the effort of repainting the cam cover, yet left the red clocks and piped leather.

I love the colour, but it is desperate for a set of correct offset wheels!

Ironically, i've got the correct bits in the garage, just not the funds to add the car to the bits!

This car is being passed around more times than a spliff at a rasta man party.

Paint those sills in satin, looks bloody horrible. He could get a brand new set of 16" factory wheels and caps for £1250 - massive improvement, especially if he changed that instrument panel too. Just leave that ugly looking interior to deal with.

If anyone is looking for an E30 M3, I was told of a very nice, original car with just 60k miles and last owner for 15 years. I should have more details and pics by weekend.

Spotted this on eBay. Awful boot spoiler.

Looks an honest car. Shame the 16" have gone missing and replaced by 15" items. Not the most exciting colour/interior combo, but looks OK and at least those sill trims are correct.

Another for sale on eBay. Looks like an American spec car, but advertised as being a 215bhp model with a dogleg box. Both of which it wouldn't of had if American spec. Needs further investigation for any buyer. Plus another car with the wrong wheels, but does have the correct interior, even if it is that bloody awful tan and big airbag steering wheel.
