The one I have linked to was originally up at £120k, they've reduced the down to £110k then the £100k it's at now.

No, you're right. They were obviously mistaken.

BMW wil be watching with interest. If this sells, they will buy up all the rust boxes and refurbing them. Another museum piece.

Gulp indeed!

If it sells, which it will, it would be financially viable to send mine to BMW and spend €120,000 on it's restoration if I was planning on selling it!

He only bought it for £12k or so I think.

It wont even have the original power steering rack I bet, more like a 325i bodge job.

In it's present state and with it's history (and in some areas lack of) surely the car is unfortunately only fit for a track car (and a pretty good candidate at that) not a £25k example... I'm sure all prospective buyers will pick up on that and the flipper who bought it will get his ass kicked for not actually knowing the market.....cat D and RHD is just the start!!

ANYWAY, 299,000euro SE anyone??

I find it quite amazing at the way the E30 M3 prices are climbing, I have owned my 87 car from 1998 and love it to bits and certainly wouldn't sell it but it boggles the mind where the prices will end up....

I was thinking of selling it when prices were at rock bottom as I moved house, back then I would have probably got around £6000 but I read that at those prices it was worth more in bits so wasn't worth selling - sooo glad I hung on to her..

In some respects I kind of regret the work / improvements I've made to my M3 over the past year. It's at a point where I worry that were I to stuff it on track, it would be a big hit financially, so with that in mind I'm less likely to drive as intended. It's also a shame that they've been priced out of the hands of the enthusiast and into the collector / investor.

I see they're pushing ahead with the Redux Leichtbau project.

I understand that the customer supplies a fully road legal car to the company for modification, I wonder how many current owners would actually be up for this, especially given that prices for good cars are steadily rising ? (although nothing steady about Evo's etc!)

I guess that means prices for really tatty cars with MOT will rise accordingly to satisfy the requirement. For the purists, a converted car has got to be better than one that would end up being broken....

Whilst I can't see me being willing to offer up (or likely afford!) my own car, I think that having people willing to put serious money into development on these cars can only be a good thing.

I for one would be interested in what bits offer an improvement and if so whether they fit (or available?) for a non converted car.

I would be surprised if more than 5 people hand over a car for them to modify. There '9 prototypes' I would suggest is probably their idea of realistic figure. Plus I'm not even sure the likes of Lotus build nine prototypes from a ground up design, so not sure why you need 9 of what is a fairly normal modified car or why you would want to own a prototype, as my idea of one is of being a test bed. What car company sells their prototypes ? All sounds a bit odd and PR type stuff to me.
On the positive front, no mention of that silly CSL batmobile style roof hoop and now the option of both NA and turbo, but I think I'd want a new 2.5L block used and not a bored 2.3L block.

I went to view the black J Reg m3 currently on E-bay, all I say is anyone who is thinking its worth a punt needs to go down and view it in person. Its a mess which only looks good from 10ft!
Paintwork is a mess
Inside is like its been used as a second home
Engine bay is a mess
Found a few proper bodged up repairs (what's the rest going to be like)

A decent M3 is like 25k and upwards now some hitting 30-40k

Silverstone have another red m3 going through auction this month with a guide of 34k-38k

Another uncompleted e30 m3 project has cropped up on here and seller is looking for 25k as complete package or around 8k for just the shell.

I sold my Europamiester in 2012 for 14.5k but back then I think that was priced right.

You would think they'd know that more often than not, anyone looking at buying an E30 M3 is likely to be an enthusiast and will have researched what cars are available. The only way I can see that car making £25k is if they pulled it apart and sold it for parts!
