So 5 or 6 spent could make iit a great car. Try doing a full body she'll resto for less than 50k plus doner car...
£5-6k would make it a better car for sure, a very good one in the grand scheme of things but the point is for £37k plus £6k to paint would give you a healthy budget to get a better car.And £50k for a full body resto?!
I can tell you now after being involved in several complete restorations of E30's on both a professional level and as an enthusiast it would not cost anywhere near that unless you were modifying along the way and then a figure would be open ended depending on what kind and what standard of mofications were involved.

I don't see anything to suggest the engine in that car isn't original.
There is no way of knowing for sure without checking the engine number, but the added Jap bits are definitely a cause for concern when you are shelling out £37,000 for a car. If it's not a matching numbers car then the price drops accordingly. m5pop said:
The bodywork is "described as beautiful", yet only gets 3 stars in the report?Leins said:

I wish people wouldn't use words like 'new' when describing a 27 year old car. It sets expectations that cars can never live up to. I'm sure that's just the factory lacquer under the bonnet but looks shabby to me and wouldn't have expected the car to have looked like that when new....'untouched' would be a better description.Factory did not paint engine bays in high gloss lacquer. Engines and bays were also coated in a waxy coating which has a yellowish tinge. My engine bay is the same type of finish as this car, in fact on the near side suspension turret there is a run in the wax coating, mine is as it left the factory.
Evo2 on ebay at £53.5k. Nice photos / write up. If condition / miles / history stack up, doesn't seem bad value compared to some recent auction prices and advertised prices of some Sport Evo's. Would the accident damage put people off ?.....good to know this extent of damage is considered 'cosmetic'.

Sorry, I'm old, don't know how to post a link..............anyway, my bad, it's on PH not ebay as stated.
No wonder I couldn't find it on Ebay. This one is back up for sale.
Wonder if it sold the last few times it was advertised/at auction, or if it is the same seller.

Seems he's been inundated with ebay messages in the past then?!
I've actually used the car, about 4-5 years ago!
I thought it was a pretty good track spec car, and good fun on the road.
Since then it's had a new engine, full paint and the Alpinas fitted instead of the BBS RS alloys that it was on originally, but the advert says it still comes with them.
It was for sale at £8000 when I drove it last.
