Don't ask me why but at £12.5k I'd have this, probably leave the engine as it is and set myself a budget of £10k. It's never going to be a concours contender but a paint job and de-chavving this car would make an appreciable difference and there's always going to be a market for low twenties cars.....
would £10k really do it? I guess if you DIY the engineering bits then that would save a lot but the body work and painting surely is big money? As you say E30 M3 £19,999 in good working order is bound to get interest.

With the RHD conversion, it has seriously devalued that car.It would make sense to return it to LHD.

Surely, the car is rare enough, and the cost of converion back to LHD not too high, so as not to have devalued it that much? If at all?
I guess it is being sold at a price below what similar mileage original LHD cars are being offered at, so there is some flex there to pay for a conversion. The RHD conversion will put collectors off as it is no longer original, lets face it, the only people buying Sport Evo's these days are collectors. The RHD market is also much more limited than LHD.
Not sure how much it would cost to convert the car back, you would imagine that they still have the original parts, LHD dash etc. To achieve the maximum price for the car I believe it would need to be brought back to LHD spec.
Nice car but would be interested to know how much seller is asking?

Do you know this car SE? It does look a nice car.
I do feel that if we are going to post things like saying a car is a Cat C, at the very least we should provide at least some evidence of that. I say that as knowing someone who was selling specialised low number M Car, only for someone on a forum to say the same thing. The problem being it was utterly false and caused problems with the sale.
What is the asking price at the moment, £35K?

Someone put a note on mine when parked in the office car park last Friday afternoon asking if mine was for sale (not right now) which happens fairly regularly.
1987, Lachs Silver, 220k kilometres on the German speedo. Owned by me for 15 years and used a lot (as the speedo reading testifies) Well maintained, box of receipts, with a few cosmetic requirements.
I texted him back saying thanks and I'd add him to the list of interested parties but he offered £13k. I countered by saying he was £10k away. He came back with a £20k offer. Still too low I think but he was keen and could conceivably have gone higher.
He admitted to being only 20 years old so insurance might be a problem tho! And could he maintain the car? I'd be loathe to sell it knowing it might not be going to a good home.
