I think the ad is wrong and this is kms not miles. Will be interested to see how much this goes for as the mileage isn't much higher than that on my Evo2.

Passed at £58k.Nice car but I predicted it wouldn't sell with that mileage on it.
250,000 KMs.....
The low miles Mercedes 190 Cos Evo 2 didn't either....at £175,000.

Looking through the auction results, unless they haven't all been updated, many lots didn't sell.Nice car but I predicted it wouldn't sell with that mileage on it.

I haven't driven the sport evo but I guess its not that much better than a regular e30 m3. At 250k kms this will never be collectible and so will only be worth a bit more than a regular M3 as most will see it as a slightly better version of that car
They aren't much different, the engine has a slightly more gruff character and the seats are a snugger fit. Collectibility comes from rarity not mileage. Ultimately most collectors buy on condition and originality. Sport Evo 600 built, 'normal' M3 17000 or thereabouts. I think that even the leggiest Sport Evo will still be collectible.
It was a poor example of a great spec (black/cloth/no sunroof). Has had a crude blow over. Rot in rear quarters, floor and arches (possibly more). The plug leads had been hand painted red to mimic the correct ones! The OBC screen was bleeding, suede shagged, drivers seat foam collapsed etc. A £20-£25k car to allow for bare metal rebuild or breaking. There were no bids at all in the room...it opened with a 'commission' bid...
£20k is still a fair chunk of cash above an equivalent non Evo car though. There's also a strong value in those Evo parts that are now NLA. In fact all E30 M3 spares are getting harder to source and those tired cars, that you used to be able to buy at £10k or thereabouts, are worth considerably more once broken up. Bare unrestored shells I know have made £10k on their own and a dogleg box is upwards of £1.5k.

Yes Mark, Joe at ARM said exactly the same about scarcity of parts. He's had mine since May and still awaiting a scuttle panel from Germany and is awaiting rear inner wings for another car which aren't expected until January.. Regardless of condition and mileage, I don't think we'll ever see a sub £50k Evo Sport again. As has been said above, regardless of condition, they're still a 600 off touring car legend so will always be collectible - I don't buy the collectors only want low mileage / originality comment. I don't know how many cars you need to be considered a collector but I've got 6 hobby cars and buy on condition and history. Some of mine are higher mileage and have been restored, others are totally original and low mileage - as long as they are mint, I'm not too bothered.
If this car was as others have described - needing rust work, paint and cosmetics, £74k was ludicrous as (I am finding!) you can easily spend £10-15k fixing these issues and £90k should buy you one of the best available with 60-80k miles.
As an aside, I do think advertising this as a 250,000 km car was a mistake - 150k miles or whatever it converts to doesn't sound as bad for a 26 year old car and I suspect there are a lot of dubious history cars out there which have similar mileage.....
